Now that is something worth thinking about, if not even exploring. (I don't think I'm able of that now, but who knows...)Since we are talking about immortality, and we alluded to Castaneda, this brings up an interesting point about the inorganic beings , the Tunnels of Set, and also 'old sorcerers' who would not relinquish their ego 'in Toltec times 'and became trapped in the Tunnels, or the Nightside of the Tree.
I guess one could view this as a part of the lower astral, or perhaps the etheric as well. Too heavy to ascend to higher realms, out into the universe, they seem stuck to the Earth plane/sphere or to Malkuth.
They are immortal but in a very limited and seemingly miserable way.
If we presume that there are many realms beyond physical, then becoming a resident there will no doubt give both advantages and disadvantages to the being living there, eternally or not.
If it is alright then depends on whether the bing find advantages outmatching disadvantages.
