This is a mirror of the classic Internet Sacred Text Archive website which hosts various classical texts of the religious, spiritual and philosophical variety.

Because ISTA is massive I decided to put each category folder into a .zip file of it's own to make packaging everything together a bit easier. So, for instance, if you want to browse only the buddhism archives you can just unzip the "bud.zip" file into a "bud" folder the root folder of the website and start browsing it by opening "bud/index.html" in your browser. I know this might be annoying but it's much faster than putting all of the 176K files all at once into the same zip file.

Simply look at the zip files in alphabetical order or hover the sidebar links in the main page to find the archive of your preferred category.

Note on MEGA: MEGA has a download limit of 1.5 GB for free accounts. The archive is 1.4 GB in size which means that you should be able download everything in one go as long as you haven't downloaded anything large just before it.

Important: If you spot any pages that were not archived properly please reply to this thread with the missing URL. Due to the immense size of this website (176K files) it may be possible that a few pages slipped through the cracks.
