Hello to all who read this.

I performed my first LBRP in 1995. I worked magick hard for five years after that, then migrated to Buddhism, and now have been back with magickal work for a couple of years. Completed the Rite of Abramelin on October 13/2025. Currently building a Golden Dawn-style temple in my house. My magickal interests include Enochian magick, Hermetic Qabala, tarot, magickal alphabets, and the use of entheogens with magick ritual.

Apart from my magician work, I’ve been teaching Brazilian jiu-jitsu for approximately twelve years, I started in Chicago and am now living in the Pacific Northwest (Bothell, Washington). I received my black belt in 2020. My undergraduate major was philosophy, with a minor in religious studies. I’m married and have two adult children, two black cats and a dog.

Welcome, nice to see that you made this effort to have a nice introduction. Why was it that you decided to come back to occultism? Is that a process you are willing to share about?

Hello to all who read this.

Hi. I am new too .

I performed my first LBRP in 1995. I worked magick hard for five years after that, then migrated to Buddhism, and now have been back with magickal work for a couple of years.

I am trying to think how long I have been involved 'hard' - it has gone up and down over the years . Sometimes it was 90% focus on that over the years . Other times I ventured along other paths ... but after a while they are ( or I venture to say , should be ) complimentary . My first ritual work would have started around 20 - so 50 years ago . I get 'migrating to Buddhism ' .... I have found it very complimentary to my path ( ie. Kagyu , and back to Bon ... and further to Bo )

Completed the Rite of Abramelin on October 13/2025.

Well, you will have to post some about that :) . Recently on my Daoist forum ( that has a Buddhist section as well ) there has been some talk around this and others that have experience in it . It was stimulated by this ;

Currently building a Golden Dawn-style temple in my house. My magickal interests include Enochian magick, Hermetic Qabala, tarot, magickal alphabets, and the use of entheogens with magick ritual.

Ahhh ... the joys of setting up and constructing one's own temple ! I have been fortunate to have rural space and used to have one nearby . A multi purpose one .... all sorts of stuff happened in there over the years . Then there is making and ritually consecrating all the items , drawing and painting , soft furnishings ! - at least a lot of that part, for me , was a group effort . We focused on Enochian for some time ( I spent over 90 hours painting a full set of tablets ( the type with all the attributions ) . Hermetic Qabalah - certainly ! Also 'Neo-Hermetics' . Most definitely tarot ( I read at the local markets for years - shared a stall with a local Wiccan HP / attar / alchemist )

Apart from my magician work, I’ve been teaching Brazilian jiu-jitsu for approximately twelve years, I started in Chicago and am now living in the Pacific Northwest (Bothell, Washington). I get that too - my BB is in a pretty unknown tradition from Okinawa 'Sieto' ( family tradition - 'Matsamura' or 'Sokon ' ; this was our head teacher ;

)

Also kobudu , a few weapons * . I also did a few other styles ; Japanese karate , sword, aikido, a bit of FMA ) .

* I think they go well together , I am old and ..... other stuff .... so I cannot do too much anymore so I like to teach magical principles in martial arts . With weapons we have some main ones in MA and some main ones in magick . Ever through about a correlation ?

In aikido they have jo ; mid length staff or wand .
Tanto ; dagger.
Boken ; sword.
In Kobudo, tinbe ; shield ( tortoise shell )

- then there is the whole ' Qi / Ki / Chi thing ' .

Bo (long staff) here. I wonder now, how many Occultists are also Martial Artists? I never even thought to mention that in my intro...
