Hello, my name is Calcinatio. I'm interested in all things near the edges.
I named myself after the phase of burning away the dross because there is always work to be done on the self.
I believe one of the most powerful metaphors to be drawn out of working alchemical manuals is that the fire be kept at the right temperature during long operations.
For what feels like a long while now I've been struggling to maintain the consistent practices that I used to. It's been a little tough keeping that fire burning, not too hot or too cool..
I feel great joy when in the act of creation. I sublimate often into writing, drawing, carving... I incorporate my lengthy (by that I only mean deeply personal and sometimes difficult to tease apart and present to an other) occult understandings into my poetry as a way to speak one of my versions of the unspeakable.
