Hi,
I don’t know if this is a space for me yet- as I’ve never thought of myself as overly occult in the spells and crystals way. I’m a philosopher/scientist, however recently I’ve been bumping into more and more occult stuff as I try and answer more complex questions about the nature of the self.
whilst a robust skepticism is part of my nature, I try and pair that with a robust curiosity to balance it out.
hopefully I’m able to exist here and read and learn, or compare and synthesise different peoples experiences in this sphere of endeavour.

I wouldn’t say I’m looking for a scientific basis, as I think that implies acceptance and risks confirmation bias- but I am trying to open up my sphere of understanding, and then observe interesting correlations or comparisons. At the moment I’m mainly tackling the hard problem, but i also like the evolution of the shaman role as a societal outsourcing of metaphysical awareness/capacity.

Anytime someone tries to get money for me for a spiritual or mystical revelation, I have a really hard time withholding judgement. if it’s not for sharing freely, and the uplifting of other minds, it’s not the sort of magic I want to touch. Thanks though!
