greetings,
I'm starting my studies about Planetary Magick for about a couple of weeks and in many books, i find many authors binding one with another. And while i do understand the fact that some uses Astrology as a scource to relate the 12-hours division as the zodiac and simply relates to astrology as an archaic meaning to speak of the patterns of energetical transmission from the Sun to Earth, the majority of books are really into the idea that constellations, a.k.a. random stars that align in our night sky due to the inclination and refractory properties of our atmosphere, are deeply connected to problems and internal traits of the individual.
And as someone who is both Autistic/Giftedness and who enjoy and study Astronomy since he was a little child watching Carl Sagan's Cosmos in a TV channel back in the 90's, it simply feels off... I mean, while i understand that using the old greek-based constellations to relate the hours and how that civilization in particular perceived the changes from the energetical flow between the sun and the Earth, i found like approximately 63,337% that will describe personality traits and " work with Jupiter if you are a Leonine and you'll be able to punch at light speed; work with Saturn dear magician born under the guidance of the Gemini constellation and you'll be able to shift through other dimensions and create a big bang with your hands". And i don't know if it is prejudice ( but it feels kinda a preconception of mine), but the truth is that once i get a planetary magick book that is written after the 20th century and it talks about Astrology and personality, i simply close it and delete it. And as i search for more material, i find that usually the newest ones uses more of the "personality trait test" astrology than the older counterparts.
Which really leaves me with the doubt that is it really necessary to use astrology in Planetary magick, or should i approach with the astronomical accuracy and it'll still be fine?
