years ago, I felt like I saw a very evil creature in a closet, but because the room is so dark, I couldn't figure out if it was real or my imagination, I'd be very happy if people who know answered

No one can say for certain what you experienced. It may have felt very real at the time, but darkness and fear can make ordinary objects seem frightening.
