lol what kind of fearful cringing is this to not even be able to face one's multidimensional Self? If you weren't infected with religious energies, you might have a chance to experience it, as there is no 'identification', but ever greater inner unity, wakefulness, and ascension.
The process of "identification" relies on what in the case of mainstream religions and furthermore, esoteric speaking, the RHP (Right Hand Path) current is about; Union with God / another Higher Divinity, besides helping others and so on and so forth.
One is not "infected" by religions, and, as a matter of fact, the "infection" that you are talking about is something that has paved a remarkable ground for those who needed the said religions, their texts or even people directly or indirectly in their work.
Speaking from personal experience here: I was a teenager when I had the same thoughts as you, about how religions, all sorts of churches / mosques and religious figures were bad and preventing ascension. This, fueled by immense stupidity in having believed in various pandemic related conspiracies (spiritual and non-spiritua subject conspiracies), I further spiraled down into Satanism. At first, I thought it was a "
wonderful experience, something great that would help me achieve ascension and spiritual evolution.
I didn't find that. I had my fair amount of time spent working with Goetia, personal methods for conjuring the Demons based on sigil meditation and even dreamworking and vibrating Demonic names and enns. It only proved that it was a huge drainage of my time and even worse, my energy.
I won't go off-topic now or even offend those who practice Satanism, both Theistic and Atheistic or how many other forms of Satanism that are there. I simply say:
I don't adhere to the practice anymore, but if you respect the law and don't impose your practice amongst others, then who am I to judge.

@Beyond Everything are a practicioner of Satanism or any other type of such LHP ideology, but I suggest you start taking research away from the ego-trip. To put some "spark on the fire" (pun intended), even the Bible can seem LHP at times lol:
Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test! - Corinthians 2:15
This verse invites to examine ourselves, obtained knowledge of ourselves, and realize that Jesus Christ / the Inner Light (if you want to interpret Him in that way) is within you.
One last thing I want to add in conclusion, is that we, as Human Beings, have free will, and we can choose if we momentarily or permanently surrender such free will. And even then, in the case of full surrender, some free will remains as it is a concept that is as old as the Aeons. The thing about "religions" is that they are not illusions, but manifestations of the Word of the Universe in an exoteric (commonly told) form, the practicioner further being awaited upon receiving the call to choose their path, texts from said religions, texts, interpretations, and so on and so forth.
