Is the forum slow for anyone else?

I've noticed in the last few days that the forum intermittently slows to a crawl when I click on things. Just wanted to check whether anyone else was getting this, and whether @SkullTraill had noticed anything?

Its nor just you. I also have a slow page load time.

Probably just a hosting issue. Hosting websites is difficult to manage with all the ddos attacks and server costs.

Here too. Sometimes it loads fast, sometimes it's really slow.

It depends on the time of day. For me its early morning and it loads fine but i also noticed that late at night (and sometimes in the afternoon) it slows to a crawl, almost as slow as aol. But yeah like throne said, its just servers being servers and this forum being pretty massive.

I noticed that recently .... its not me either as I use a really old other forum that is always doing that and often noting but 'bad gateway ' but that was working fine during the wizard forum slow times .

I think it depends on multiple factors.

It may be the servers which are having some hard times to process the content, or the network in your area, especially if it is highly stressed.

So far, the forum has been working really well for me, the fault being my network upload / download rate which increased and decreased depending on how heavy the traffic was.

Assuming there's no DDOS going on, I think the forum could be the victim of its own success. You pay for a certain amount of bandwidth and machine, and if you have enough traffic, things can slow down.

Can everyone go into more detail about how/when exactly the site is (if possible, and if you haven't already).

I myself notice the site crawling at a snail's pace sometimes, but it's very rare for me. Maybe once or twice a week for about 5-10 minutes each time.

Honestly, I thought it was just me, or maybe some kind of backup running, traffic spike, DDoS etc. But if it's happening daily to some of you, and you're sure it's not on your end, then it's a serious issue and I need to look into it more.

This type of issue is typically mitigated by cloudflare. Plus, it's not like I pay some trivial amount for hosting either. I never see the hosting usage stats on the control panel exceed 20%, that's why I'm a little worried. If I know for sure that it's a resource issue, I'll gladly upgrade to more a expensive package.

Glad it's not resources, sad that it's still a mystery. I'll note down any times when it gets slow in case you can match that time with anything.

Yes looks like there's a certain pattern in there.

The site has been very slow at times. Sections took forever to load and sometimes it didn't even load the main page for a while, 30-60secs. A couple of times nothing happened and I reloaded, nothing, gave up and came back after 10 mins.

This happened in the evenings, EU time.
Looks like there are some x hours when it slows down.
Oh well it's not exactly end of the world, just annoying if it doesn't open at all.
It's probably temporary and related to the server, hosting, something.
