So, you may know this, but Disney had an animated series for the hercules movie. In it, there's an episode where Jafar ends up in the Greek underworld. He and Hades team up to take down Aladdin and Hercules. Hades even promised Jafar position of God of the Underworld. Sounds like a good plot for a sequel movie.

Anyway, how would that work theologically? Does Allah hand his undesirables to Pagan gods? Is Jafar exempt somehow to his own culture's theology? Did he offend Allah somehow?

I know it's a cartoon, and shouldn't be taken seriously, but I think the idea is just funny.

..should I overthink again and take the hypothetical too seriously? OK here I go

Perhaps only Allah is considered as God and the pagan gods are lesser beings not actual gods. Like how angels are not considered gods in catholicism? They hold the title of deity but aren't actually a deity?

Also does Islam even exist in this universe? I can't remember Aladdin

In the movie, the Sultan does say "Praise Allah."

But going by your comparison, I'm of the opinion that an angel exists specifically to serve. I mean, in all sources on Islam that I've read/listened to, they were very clear that angels don't have free will. Only humans and Djinn have free will. So, a pagan god can act on their own.

I mean, sure there are hierarchies, and some gods like Hermes are considered messengers. But gods still have room to act on their own. And even messenger gods have their own offices.

But that, as far as I've gathered, is why monotheistic deities tend to have a problem with polytheist deities. Pagan gods have the free will to act on their own accord. And that's why I find this episode so fascinating. It really should've been a full length direct to dvd movie.
