Making a thread to fork from here, just because EQ is cool if nerdy, and posting the info here might inspire other to take EQ for a spin.

What is EQ? Is it esoteric qabalah? Can't find anything on a Jim Lee that is not a comic artist

Sorry, it was JAMES Lee's groups from the 1970's UK.

The EQ version I like is the one used in by Jake Stratton-Kent in his 'Serpent's Tongue' - which is the book that introduced EQ to me. I was open to exploring it then becasue we are both GV magicians, and I will always have a soft spot for Thelema. It's also expanded upon in depth in the EQ books from Cath Thompson. More info below.

I usually dislike number games and I HATE gemutriah. 'Nerdy mnemonic systems,' I called them for many years.

I think it was in 2014 when I was reading Jake's 'The Serpent Tongue' when I was swept up in a mystical vision that put me in an joyous and buzzing ecstatic state that lasted THREE whole days. It was pretty amazing.

It's that specific vision, the "abduction" by the GV's Guland and where I "went" when he "summoned" me, and other visions from own magical work, and personal FC theosis practices are very dear to me. These visions, all unscripted and rather delightful and shocking - well, they all slotted together on their own somehow and then inform my own operative model of 'Mythic and Daimonic Idealism ' - to give it a catchy name. (And without trying to make all into a cult, paid Substack, publishing deal, or a religion or anything. Yeesh. )

Reading Liber AL through EQ I have found can trigger a pretty sublime "cosmo-vision," as Gordon White would phrase it.

Whatever is going on, I THINK this EQ unlocks Liber AL in a pretty neat way, for people who resonate with it. I also think other EQ's and interpretations and combinations with other mythic models and symbolic systems can unlock other Liber AL inspired mystical visions. So this should not be thought of as the end-all-be-all of it ALL.

Again, EQ is super-duper occult nerd nerdy. Think thick horn-rim Buddy Holly glasses covered in sigils level boss nerd. And I'm not suggesting it will unlock what it did for me. I think we all usually think about these types of things too mechanistically. But it's a pretty cool "key. "

(Mods. I checked , but I see NO forum or paid content there . If there is, please let me know and I'll make a mirror page somewhere here.)

I do not "do" aliens, but this EQ is the one that's be used and is still used by UFO folks to decrypt High Strangeness communications from UFO manifestations. See Allen Greenfield's book for more:

I haven't hade time to explore the EQ.
JSK's book is what had sparked in interest in it for me.. And the UFO angle is awesome too.
Thanks for sharing your experience with it.

It's totally my pleasure, A.A.S.B! You are most welcome!

Oh, a quick practical note. I hope these suggestions upticks other people's probability for cool results.

When I had the big EQ vision is was one evening when I was just relaxing and reading in bed. I was reading JSK's The Serpent Tongue and was just sort of mulling it over, thinking about the connections while relaxed and a little drowsy.

The relaxed state is a good place to be for the more mystical side of all this.

I also recommend reaching an attitude of not giving a fuck. Relaxing helps to cut out the noise of divided attention. So forget 99.9% of all the super-super occult secret-decoder things everyone is trying to sell you on. Including me. Just relax and tell us all to fuck off.

Many newcomers report initial magical successes then report hoe the magic went away, and later wonder why they feel their initial successes in magic have stopped. That's initial l success the Beginner's Luck everyone misses. Now you know how you can get it back. Give no fucks. Stop giving away your inner peace to all us fuckwits. Beginner's Luck is the Beginner's Mind.

But when conjuring spirits using the grimoires, we take the opposite stance. We're entering a different part of Symbolic Space called 'the Underworld' and you must be vigilant, and hyper focused.

Honestly, this confusion has many fathers and mothers, but these two "places" and "stances" were especially confused by General Gardner who took the grimoires as an aesthetic - and our very Sublunar, late medieval / early modern Catholic, and rather vigilant Harrowing of Hell - the underworld journey - and stripped of the Catholicism, combined it with the G.D. and mystical Neo-Platonism, and then wrapped it in a British pastoral pagan vision to make the perfectly operationally confused Neopagan turducken.

In seeking mystical visions you must relax. In New Thought, you must relax. In grimoire magic, you must be vigilant and on your toes. They are different terrain. One "above" and one "below." One in the "Noetic Infinite Mind" and the other in the Sublunar "Hell."

Or that's how it works for me. I hope it helps folks.
