I think it's both a way to remember of the intent and the magick nature of the object, no less no more. It's kinda a trigger for us, i don't believe it hold any real power to itself (like anything else ahahha.... Mostly in a jar form.

So you don't think having words or characters written on side of said jars retain any power of themselves alone? Lotta people carve sigils, latin verse, or runes onto different vessels of talismans they create. My idea is basically a jar version of this.

It depends.

Writting with a pen doesn't hold any magickal matter by itself, mostly on glass. Using metals is a different story since they retain more subtle energy.

Now when it comes to using runes for instance, i believe if you crave any random symbol instead the effect would be the same. Rune magick is something only people who study well Norse mythology can connect to. For most of us, it will just be a symbol that only hold the power that you put into.

I would say it's the same for using latin verses/Bible prayers.... The effect will be very different if you are a priest, if you are the descendant of a folk magician or if you are a choas magickian. The first one has the ritualistic tools to tape into the Christian egregore. The second one will use things that connect to their ancestors, the family charge will be huge. Most of us (chaos ahahah) will just use those verses to trigger a certain state of mind that allow the magick to happen.

You can consecrate a pen and turn it into a talisman itself. Best to do it to Mercury or Thoth/scribal entity. Then whatever ink you're using mix in some myrrh oil or something and consecrate that too. Then whatever you write with it is magic.

Take a jar and fill it with water. Leave it outdoors for seven days, and each day, replenish the missing water until birds become accustomed to drinking from it.

On the night of the Total Dark Moon (at the end of the month), take it, empty its contents, wash it, and refill it with water. Take a second jar—not necessarily the same size—and fill it with water from the first jar, which you then hide so that it never sees sunlight or moonlight again.

Leave the second jar outdoors or in a warm place.
