Just a silly anecdote about intuition.

I don't go out to eat very often, and when I do I don't often go to restaurants I haven't been to before, but there is a trick I've found to making sure you make the best choice for your meal.

When you first go in and start looking at the menu, pay close attention to what first stands out to you. The first thing that catches your eye with a thought of "that sounds good" is almost always the correct choice for you to order. It really is just following your intuition, and choosing based on that instead of any conscious thoughts about "this being better than that" or "what about this over here".

When I fly over to visit my family, we often go out to eat at various places, usually trying something new or different, and there have been more times than I can care to remember where I was the only person of the 3-5 people in our party to get something that was exceptionally good. Even at times when we went to the one nearby restaurant that's food quality varied greatly depending on who was in the kitchen that day, I almost always picked the exact right thing for a satisfying meal, despite everyone else being disappointed with what they chose. If I had to guess the total number of times this has happened, I really couldn't say, but I can recall at least 15 different times where this has occurred. And I accomplished it by simply following my "gut instinct", that first spark of intuition.

The point of this all is simple; you should always pay close attention to your intuition, as it is most assuredly correct. Before you claim this is off topic or not relevant to this forum category, this is just an example of how following intuition can be beneficial towards making choices. The same methodology I use for picking my meal at an unfamiliar restaurant is the same methodology I use for choosing which route to take, which box to tick, which ritual concept to use, and how I should approach the challenges of each day.

As a final point, when you ignore or misunderstand your intuition it usually doesn't end particularly well, so one should practice to better understand and sense their intuition to maximize their benefit from it.
