LAM has always been a highly speculative practice, if you ask me. The Typhonian Order manifested him/it into existence, but as far as practical reasons to evoke him/it are concerned, well... they ain't spilling the beans on that one.
My guess? An egregore built as a Typhonian equivalent to Exu-Legba to initiate potential candidates into the Typhonian current via oneiric gnosis.
