I hope it's not off topic, but I actually had lychee when I went to Thailand when I was 15 (my dad me to Thailand when I was a teen and my brother to Guatemala despite us being poor, like food stamp poor, he saved up because he believed it was important to see that there were other cultures different than our own) and lychee was definately my favorite fruit.

I wish I could get it here in the US, but we can get those lychee drinks with the gelatin cubes iirc, from an Asian food market which is probably the closest thing.
