Magical planetary squares.

Hello everyone.
I have a question about magical planetary squares.
Is it really possible to use them for meditation to acquire some planetary properties?
Do they need to be activated in some way, or can you just draw them and they are ready to work?

(I believe) they are meant to extract sigils from. But your idea of meditating on them seems like a good place to start as well. Like so many things in Magick, it's up to the Wizard to give it his/her own twist and make it his own.

I have found that using Tziruf and Gematria to study the squares (aka Kameas) really helps me in my own work with them. I'm speaking in terms of a very active kind of meditation that can open inner doors. Really all you need is pen and paper, and maybe a calculator. For me, at least, and those I have studied, it can get really intense.

Ritual stuff can come later once the inner mechanisms of the squares is mapped out to satisfaction.

The only important distinction I would point out regarding the sigils of the squares is that the Seal is the totality of the square, and can be taken as a meditative glyph but also used as a talisman. Regarding the Spirits and Intelligences associated with the Kameas is that the Spirit is an entity - basically the kind you can evoke - and the "Intelligence" has been called a "blind force" - though I prefer "ray" as in planetary rays or radiance.

I think its a good idea to understand your particular relation to the planet related to the square via your natal chart and also it's current placement in heavens at the time of working with it.

It's a very good idea to align the "curves" of the planets in the natal chart with the help of squares (Kameas).

the "Intelligence" has been called a "blind force"

Some clarification/correction:
Whitcomb actually calls the Spirit a "blind force" and the Intelligence as an "evolutionary guiding principle". He does not give a specific source for these notions.
For Agrippa, according to Tyson's footnote, the Intelligence is the "benevolent spirit" of the planet while the Spirit is "malevolent".
Griffin gives an example evocation of Zazel in a triangle which I find myself studying with comparative interest.
