Greetings,

currently i read a book about Planetary Magick, but it had so many rituals using food ingredients that, to be honest, i felt like a waste.
While i do understand that some cultures and practices uses food, living in a country that is still in the map of hunger, and thinking about people that didn't eat yet, to a point that some mothers take dirty water and cook tiny rocks to pretend that she's making dinner until her kids fall asleep, feels not only a waste. but also unhetical.

So, do you guys know a system that can also ressonate with the magnetic and gravitational forces of the planets and do not uses food as a medium?

And yes, I'm new into magick, so please, correct me if i'm messing up, but please at least be kind 🥺
thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Just to correct myself, because i only saw that i made a huge mistake:

It is not that the practice is unethical, but I taking the action of using food as material for a spell feels that it breaks my internal moral clock to a point that simply thinking about it makes me feel like i'm about to vomit.

I had the same issue when delving into Norse practices. Offerings of food never felt as good idea to me, especially if the food is left on the altar and then thrown away. I only performed rituals where I ate the food, or left sweets somewhere where they were free to be taken by anyone who wanted them. However this was rather modern invention, in ancient Norse rituals the food offerings were that they took an animal, killed and cooked it and shared it with entire village. Practically it was ritual of food sharing... or they drink from one horn passed in the circle. Again, sharing.

I would use the food only if I intent to eat it as part of invocation or influence on me. Beyond that I only offer water that I later give to the plants either inside or outside, depending on the use.

I think that offering food on itself is not the core issue, maybe not even for you, rather as what happens tot he food after the ritual is done.

However, there are many other ways to charge spells, than food: Focus, meditation, handmaking of spell tools, sex, blood, etc... (I think that food is not really used that much to charge spells)
