Hello! I am a Hellenic Mageia of 16 years and I currently identify with all pronouns.
I've dabbled a little bit in philia (love magic) and yiteiés (spirit communication magic), but not much. I've done a bit of religious work on myself, learning about Hellenism and Hellenic Paganism, in which I've figured out that I am drawn to Selene more than I am to other deities. The pull I feel towards Selene is more than just emotional comfort, but it has something to do with that, too. When I am under Selene's gaze (or moonlight), I feel content. I feel safe. I feel complete. I feel connected to her in this way that I cannot express with words. I guess the best way I can explain it is like a soul-link or a soulmate, but closer, more spiritual, like she's speaking to the deepest parts of my soul that I didn't even know were there. It's less intense when it is day or I am not directly in her gaze, but it's still there. I am also drawn to Asclepius because I have had horrible mental health all of my life, but in worshipping him, I found that I have become happier. I also, of course, worship Hekate because she is the source of my magic, as well as Hypnos, because he is the source of my dreams. Finally, I worship Mnemosyne because she is the one who keeps my memory, and I don't like forgetting things that are important to me.
Magic to me is an expression of self. It's an expression of what your values are, what you want in life, and what you already have. It's a form of art to me as well.
