Giving thanks or praise to a diety, spirit, or any other entity.
I had committed to changing something about myself that had been holding me back. Once I committed, St. Mary appeared. She appeared in my dreams that very night and blessed me (I hardly knew anything about her before this event). She guided me through the transformation and has subsequently become my most trusted spiritual companion. She is the presence of Wisdom. Spiritual transformation, healing and creativity seem to be her main concerns, but she can be petitioned for many other things.

If you didn’t know much about her, what drew you to her?
I was raised at a time when Mary Magdalene was considered a repentant prostitute. Women would have to pray to her if they had a child out of wedlock. But recently, I’ve learned that scholars are reexamining her role in the Gospels. She is now considered an apostle. It really makes me rethink everything—in a good way.
Did you simply pray to her, or did you perform a more complete ritual with rosaries, candles, and icons?
