Because this is an Idiotic Post, hope you dont mind if i use it, can someone shine his light on the following:
"We're one of the last few open bastions for sharing occult knowledge, vague and cryptic assertions are not acceptable."
Is that really all you see going on here? Have you read the other thread they posted in? Have you read gamerman23's posts? If not, you might take a look whenever you have time. I think their pattern of behavior will become apparent, although who knows, you might read it all and have a different opinion.
But, it seems clear to me they were using anime as a smokescreen for magical knowledge to troll us. The forum rules say this is an English only forum, yet in this thread they posted repeatedly in Japanese, and didn't even offer an English translation. Their pattern of behavior ties in with their previous posts. And I think it's obvious from their seventh-grade level responses after being called out that they were never here for any other reason than to troll.
Let me take the liberty of anticipating your next question: "Since when are magicians rules-followers?"
Well, magic is transgressive by its very nature, so magicians are transgressive too. But context matters, and the context here is having a board where we can clearly communicate with each other, and in a meaningful manner. That doesn't mean cryptic assertions are not acceptable. I'm pretty sure there isn't a rule prohibiting them. However, how you choose to communicate will inform how others see you. If you're all cryptic all the time, other people might give up on trying to communicate with you. And I 'get' where you're coming from, grimoires and systems of magic are often cryptic, and the word 'occult' itself means 'hidden'.
If they let people like no_hope/gamerman23 have their way, the board would degenerate into unusable chaos.
That's my perspective, anyway. YMMV and all that.
