Know I‘ve been quiet the last few weeks, but various IRL things happened and now I’m returning with queries and seeing if I can find others like myself…

In a previous post of mine I mentioned being ‘Otherkin’.
There’s been a few labels, but not sure if any have really been accurate: Furry, Otherkin, Therian, Star-child.

Since childhood I’ve never really fit in, even amongst those I do connect with.
My behaviour isn’t always, human or human enough. I don’t punch or slap, but more inclined towards biting and clawing. Talking is hard. Writing I can handle, but I’d rather chirp, squeak, purr and such.
Yes, I’ve been diagnosed as neurodivergent, but it was long before that I felt different and not quite human…

The closest thing on this planet my ‘soul’ looks like, is a wolpertinger from the Black Forest. It’s the closest but not quite… a wolf type body, rabbit head and ears, retractable claws, more hare than rabbit hind legs, a plumed canine tail, wings the colour of a magpie but the shape of a raptor and purple, vertical slit eyes. Weirdly I’ve sets of moles on my neck, hips and lower spine that would be where the different parts connect.

A friend once ran me through a book/guide to try and find out what soul type I have. I sadly can’t recall the title and if anyone has an idea what it might be, I’d greatly appreciate it! There were multiple types, but the one I was, was Star-child, and I recall another was old soul.

There’s various cultures and mythology which have included non-human beings, those with animal tendencies or souls from a place other than Earth.
Have any of you found good references regarding these entities? There’s a lot of resources, but I've found peer recommendations to be helpful when seeking information.
Therian seems to be the best description so far, but I’d gladly read many areas to find a better.

"Otherkin" used to be an entire thing in early 2000s forums, mostly kids with a severe case of chuunibyo, desperate to distance themselves from the people in their surroundings with a sense of superiority... I'll markedly ignore your mention of the sexual minority who [redacted]. 😅

I honestly wouldn't put much value in books such as the one you mention; for the most part they are superficial and not even their authors take them seriously. It's common to associate a seeker mentality, strong transcendental yearning, strong sense of justice, intellectual curiosity and sometimes social awkwardness with such highfaluting titles as "indigo child", "star child", "old soul" or whatnotever. In the end, it's just flattery to sate the reader's vanity.

Let me ask you this... What's a "human soul" to begin with? Have you scientifically examined a research sample of "human" souls to compare your own and draw some conclusion that you are fundamentally different? Or what would make a soul "old"? What counts as old, and couting from when? And then we're not even in the realm of "soul vs spirit", and whether souls or spirits even have permanent fundamental shapes or not.

Having a spiritual fascination is a good thing, and one with strong curiosity in this field tends to pass through various identifications, dissociations and phases of hyperfocus, which is perfectly normal... All I can recommend you is to try to seek original sources and groups where you'll come across the opinions of generations of practicioners, as opposed to various memetic online youth culture groups, which are prone to misrepresenting sources, unchecked group hybris, and memetic contamination from literal pornography... and to keep your (human) tendency of vanity and hybris in check, and avoid thinking in terms of "normies vs. special snowflakes".

I think you're in a good place, just read a lot and have an open but critical mind... and check out some podcasts to widen your occult / spiritual erudition... I recommend Weird Studies, Esoterica Channel, Angela's Symposium...

Accept yourself for who you are. You don't need validation from a forum, a book, or any literature. Your soul is your soul, and some obscure text you forgot isn't going to change anything. Live the life you want to live. If you feel lost, that's normal. We all do at times. Keep learning, keep bettering yourself, and your path will find you.

I had a past life hypnosis regression session and found out this was my first human life. I found that disturbing personally because I'm a highly cynically person who doesn't not believe in aliens but also treats these things with extreme skepticism, from a more scientific pragmatic sort of view. As far as I'm concerned, this is my first and last time on this god forsaken planet, I'll be reincarnating elsewhere after this.

Don't trouble yourself about what kind of soul you have, the most important part is you've got one. I can't imagine the alternative. I don't want to. You're doing okay. That's all that matters dear.

You seem to work with a very odd, kind of narrow definition of what a human is. "Human" is firstly an animal species you were born as. Neither does that fact require of you to conform to any idea of what a human is nor does it allow you to be something else. You don't choose it like you don't choose the colour of the Sun or the number of protons in an atom of carbon.

It reads like you have an animal totem of sorts. It might be useful as long as it is not your self. Don't ever allow anything to become your self, less than God perhaps, if he exists.

I want to call into question the whole premise of your post. Specifically, I want to ask what this whole project of trying to identify your soul-type is about. Why are you doing this? What good do you think is going to come of it?

Look: as a biological matter, you are in fact a human being. You are also a somewhat unusual human. Your typical behaviors are a bit different than those of most other people around you. As a consequence you may experience that you don't fit in with others, and this creates a certain amount of tension in your being. It seems that your quest for an identity is an attempt to address this tension. This is a completely reasonable thing to want to do, but there are better and worse ways to address this.

While we don't necessarily want to be mindless herd animals (known affectionately in furryland as sheeple), a sense of context and belonging is very important for us. We shouldn't scorn it. And so you wish to know how and where you fit in. Even if you don't fit in with the people in your immediate environment, maybe you fit into some bigger picture of the world. Thus perhaps you imagine that if you could determine what category of being you belong to, this will provide a clear answer about how you fit in, since then you would know that you fit in the way those beings fit in. (For example, an orangutan would not fit in with the kids on the playground, but it does have a place in this world, namely in the ecology and community appropriate to orangutans.)

One problem with this approach is that while you may have affinities with other types of beings, you are and remain an unusual human being. The challenges of fitting in (which, again, doesn't necessarily mean conformism; it just means finding ways to have belonging, understanding, & co-operation) remain something that you are going to have to work out on an on-going basis in the specifics of your life. It is not something that can be solved once and for all, by finding out "who you really are," nor can it be solved in the abstract.

The worst case scenario is that you create a rigid identity for yourself, a personal story about who you are and how you fit in that can temporarily give you a sense of self-worth, which you then cling to and insist on, ultimately making you less able to see and work with the nuances of your own capacities and the situations you find yourself in

The more unusual you make your personal identity, the more that it can give you a sense of specialness in compensation for the belonging that you lack, but it also makes it that much harder to actually fit in and find belonging with others. If you cling to the idea of being something other than an unusual human, this is going to make it harder to work with your real situation.

All that said, engaging in mythological imaging of one's inner life can be very helpful and healing. If becoming a wolptinger on the astral plane feels very liberating and brings about a harmony in your inner life, then by all means engage in that imagery. Just don't get too rigid about it. A time will come when wolptingers don't do it for you anymore.

Good afternoon. Regarding your questions, yes, that is true. The “Star-Child” soul type does exist. It is a very rare situation. The possibility of such souls being crossbred with beast-like entities also exists.

This kind of hybridization occurs when a particular being has some value to the Universe and its players. A form of protection is placed within the same body, and the two of you live together.

Regarding the moles, ask someone to take a photograph of your back showing all the moles. Take one complete photo and upload it to some AI tool. Ask it to compare the positions of the moles on your back with available information about constellations and check whether the patterns of any constellations correspond to the arrangement of the moles.

It is normal for Star Souls to take the form of mythical animals on subtle, astral planes.

As for information, I won't post a link here, but there is a russian project called Metaiskra. It was once an independent private project, but it has long been under the supervision of the Russian state. Its website contains an archive of publications dating back to 2017. They published a lot of material about Star Souls between 2019 and 2022. They obtained information through their own regression techniques.

A Wolpertinger is a made-up creature that taxidermists designed out of leftover body parts to amuse each other.

I agree with @solxyz on the other points.

I guess the question isn't so much "do things like X exist", because so many different things exist it's near meaningless to approach it that way.

The question is how one should approach magical and psychic experiences... @Horologer I am somewhat familiar in passing with Soviet psychic sorcery and I believe in the "do occultists get cancer more often" discussion you have made a relatively good point for why one should be extremely careful engaging with those currents, powerful as they are. ie. If someone asks me where to start learning electronics, I definitely wouldn't point them to play with a microwave oven transformer.

All the different daimonic backgrounds, otherworldly memories, weird alignments and disalignments, dreams and visions can be inspiration and guideposts in one's journey, but they can also be traps of almost-religious identification, "chosen one" syndrome, hybris or capture by a dishonest teacher. Everyone is special, we're all made of stardust. The hero triumphs through kindness, courage, humility and wit in every solar folk tale.
