Cleansing, praying, fasting, in the case that this has something to do with one or more actions, words or habits.

Read Sallust. All gods are like the sun, and we obscure ourselves from hiding from them. Redemption and renewal is only thought as a christian theme, but the cases for Oedipus and Herakles in mythology, and the orphic, eleusinian and samotracian mysteries in cult are good examples for how this theme was important for polytheistic culture as it is nowadays for the regular christian. Read the myths of the passions and actions of the Gods as symbols by how certain divine influences (and everything emanates from the gods) can be mislead and mishandled by we mortals, because of our frailty, neediness and ignorance. So pray to Apollo, Dionysus and Zeus Katharsios for purification (or the correspondent gods of your pantheon). In case of shame, anxiety and just the feeling of generalized unworthiness, approach any God praying to surpass this feeling born out of ignorance, and read about the history of the cults of your Gods, read their myths interpreted by neoplatonic pagan theology, beginning by Sallust and reading also Iamblichus, Porphyry and Proclus.

This feeling is consequence of Abrahamic faiths (not sure about judaism) where you are taught that you need to qualify for heaven and escape hell. They constantly teach people what is making them not worthy and to be afraid of not being worthy, especially in cult-minded versions of these religions.

Though control of people appears across the globe in religions.

So how to cope with that? You need to remove that program from your brain, keep teaching yourself that it is nonsense till you start believing that it is nonsense because it is. You know the saying: Keep repeating lie long enough and it becomes the truth. (in minds of poeple)

Does anyone feel this way? How do you deal with it?
I once met a great philosopher. He wasn't well known. But he had a way with words that really made you think. And he said to me one day...

"FUCK 'EM."

I still hear those words. I still hear them...

But if you want another way of seeing it...YOU ARE GOD. YOU ARE GOD WHO HAS LOST THEIR MEMORY. PRETENDING TO BE A HUMAN. FOR FUN. Those Gods are just mates you once recognised.

Tell them to come and see me if they get haughty...
