guess I’ll go first

For me I've sadly had a few

I had a friend who jumped from system to system, we met ages ago n he was a decent mage.

He'd work with demons, or a particular god or goddess then get tired n move from that system.

Eventually he started working with Santa Muerte and Saint Cyprian....idk why but he wanted to leave them too and instead do drugs

His life spiraled into drugs, he tried kicking them but I think the spirits gave him what he wanted drugs...he even started beating his gf and blaming it on spirit possession, he used magic to get her and they moved in together living off her father, he got her hooked on drugs etc.

eventually he ran afoul of a fellow mage who spoke to a few very powerful Saints and in a few months my now ex friend was kicked out of his gfs apartment and they broke up

he moved back home in shame and his father kinda disowned him, having said that my ex friend had bragged about cursing his own father

heres a pointer for you upcoming mages...do not curse your family...ever, when they die they are still your ancestors and can heavily influence your life, I’m not saying don’t disown them or cut them out if they’re horrible people, in the afterlife they will be more then forced to pay for their crimes

I think the most "gone wrong" I've had was when I did the Shared Dream divination with my last D&D group. I lost three friends over the incident, because it brought the middle void too close to them and the DM's wife managed to get a sniff of something she shouldn't have from the proximity the active divination wrought.

That got her hackles down just enough to probe her husband to see if he shared her secret interests and she used me as the fulcrum of the joke she hid the probe behind.

This proved to be just a bit too spicy of a joke, as it came up again a couple times weeks later, and eventually I confronted him with the reality of what her original intent was, which borked the entire friend group when the DM was told "talk to your wife, she clearly has interests that she wants to explore with you, the DM" and he heard "your wife is into me, the wizard."

Gone wrong not that I can think of. I have had many that simply didn't give any result but nothing that damaged me.

I met a dark entity in meditation and it tried to scare me. Being sure of myself I put out my left arm and said: Bite me!

So it did and my arm hurt for a month. I was more careful after that.


A previous time, walking over a dark hill to a community meeting, a very large entity that was attacking the community came at me, poking me in the left temple. That part of the brain hurt for months and took a decade before it was fully healed.

When I test now, the thought energy flows more easily through the right side of my brain. Perhaps the attack was a blessing in disguise.

I have a spell to get my financial life in order, and it started turning me a bit greedy. It took me some time to connect the dots and realize it was the spell. So it got nuked, because I don’t want to become a greedy person.

Classic rookie mistake - ouija board abuse. Made a spirit board myself and with a friend were just seeing what popped up. Eventually got something strong enough to weave a delightful tapestry, and when it felt like it was faster to just say what it was thinking, I ended up channeling it off and on for a while. Y'all know where this goes....it was a total POS. Lies, getting us to go after friends, etc. Last straw was it told me to go make a pass at a friend who was 100% about to get engaged to a guy she loved. The moment even just happened, and it was obvious that everything was aimed at making us waste energy and spin us about. Cut it off, never again, ended up getting more into cleansing and cleaning up the mess I made.

 

[Beyond Everything]

Many, many years ago I was meditating on a Rune, having brought it into my body. Unaccountably I started to get very angry about something relatively minor in relation to a person I knew. My rage was intense and it obviously fed the Rune (should be obvious which one) because this person's car got smashed into at an intersection a couple hours after that & they were hospitalized. Needless to say I learned how to completely master my emotions since then.

From the 'operators report ' after the ritual ; '' I thought I must have invoked something powerful as a strange light started to fill the temple , coming from behind me , I turned and it was still behind me , and then my back started getting hot . Then you guys got up and started beating my back, I didnt know what the hell was going on .''

My "favorite" of these stories is from Rufus Opus, who frequently petitioned Bune for wealth. At one point, he got a bit lazy, and asked for quick money without specifying the pathway....which resulted in his house burning down, and receiving insurance checks afterward in the amount he asked for. He talks about it a little

people dont seem to get Bune , there is a LOT more in there than getting wealth !

Although sometime after my 'association' with Bune, I did 'happen' to get $200 K inheritance .

In the category not wrong, but not expected, happened because I was not precise enough: called Furcas because of wanting to double my learning speed in a project (not magic). He promised it and I dreamed a night later that he was grinning. Turned out I was not specific enough, learning speeds in ALL things in life doubled and that was.... eh overwhelming. (understatement)

Another in the same category: I wanted to try money spells and was not specific enough. Walked a few days later somewhere with 2 friends and both had to go to a public toilet. Both found in their toilet stall money. Person A found 15 euros and person B found 22 euros. I found nothing and in the days after I didn't found/get/received money.

Years ago I was into candle magic. Mostly green candles for money. I’d carve my desire into it, and burn it. And most of the time had good luck. I followed the moon and everything went well.
I moved a few times and lost my practice. I decided to get back into it and burn another green candle this time carving the word “luck” into it. I believe it was a waxing moon.

the next day at work I accidentally drove into a door on a fork lift. No body was mad but caused a bunch of damage. Essentially “bad luck”. 2 nights later I tried a the same procedure. The next day at work again I accidentally stepped on a pipe causing a bunch of damage and halting work for others.
more “bad luck”.

kind got back into it again in the past month but gave up candle burning or a long time. Super cautious now and definitely don’t mess with luck anymore.

if anyone knows what I did wrong please let me know. Or has any suggestions to make candle magic work. I think it’s super cool but I’m kind of scared to do it now. Anyways

I haven't had anything go wrong, but i have learned how to be specific. Specificity matters.

I have asked for "assistance in obtaining..." and got a creative firehose of ideas, way more than I could deal with at that time. I have asked for certain things and got them exactly... as I didn't want them. Again, specificity matters. If you cant be specific and crystal clear with what you want, then wait until you can be before asking.

@futureshop something to think about: Luck = good luck, bad luck, no luck. Be specific with the "Luck" you are wanting. Maybe try carving "good luck" next time. Your magick worked, just not the way you wanted it to. Still a success, its just waiting to be refined.

if anyone knows what I did wrong please let me know.

It’s not really about the wording or the moon phase, the issue is that you carved the word “luck” into the candle. Carving is cutting, and etching/carving is usually better suited to binding or banishing work. So by doing that, you unintentionally cut off your luck instead of drawing it in.
