The upcoming film "Other Mommy" (based on a horror-thriller novel) has had me thinking a lot about how magic-workers in history may have treated mimics of various types? There are a lot of superstitions and cautions for commoners to follow, but Im not sure I've read anything on how magicians ought to handle such a thing. Anyone seen anything specific about this in the lore?

I haven't encountered anything in real life or magical literature that makes me think of this as anything other than imaginative superstition.

Werewolves, skinwalkers, shape changers, "mimics" (that's a new one) and similar things appear to be nothing more than fantasy fiction.

Have you got anything to share that would warrant a change in that opinion?
