Yes, we (Me and my Familiar) have our very own translation of this very-mis-translated story.

This is from my forum, so a bit old, and I will add commentary soon, but this is ready to go.

I'm still looking for one name for the Divine Feminine, for example. Perhaps, no one name will fit, but Sophia comes closest? IDK.

Instead of complaining about a lack of Torah threads here, like I've done. If this belongs somewhere else feel free to move.

It is based on the Hebrew, it's grammar, the gender of words, their plain meaning (and meaning in context) and esoteric interpretations.

'Bible scholars' will disagree, but look at how many different translations there are:

The common English in italics, mine in bold:

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Before anything was, the God/Goddess created the Spiritual and Physical Realms.

Now the earth was unformed and void, and darkness (was) upon the face of the deep;

The Creation was in disorder and an utter void, with nothing in all the Chaos;

and the spirit of God hovered over the face of the waters.

And The Goddess covered the Chaos, outside of the Chaos, surrounding it; (Womb Symbolism?)

And God said: Let there be light, And there was light.

and The God spoke through the Goddess, and called Order into being, the first creation out of nothing was Energy.

And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided between the light and between the darkness.

And God/Goddess saw the Energy, that the Creation was stable, and God/Goddess separated the Order from the Chaos.

(That's as far as I need take it for now)

The God provided the Idea, the Concept, the Order...

The Goddess provided the Form, the Reality, the Action...

The God is Pure Mind. The initiator.

The Goddess is Ruach haKodesh (Holy Spirit), the Sacred Breath, the Force of Change.

Together they are the

Where do you think this part of Genesis originated ?

We have evidence of other parts being sourced from various places ( Babylon, Assyria , Egypt, etc ) like the Great Flood and the Garden of Eden , and many more . But I have not found a source for this first part yet .

Dont complain about a lack of Torah threads ... make one ! :)

I will certainly contribute BUT I might flood it with posts from my series on ' The Construction of Judaism ' .

Personally? I think this is from an older Canaanite Myth. So, it wouldn't be from those other places if it's indigenous to the region.

Yes, exactly! There's a dearth of such threads. Is that series here? Because I've searched. However, my search skills are sub-par at best.

(Please make a new thread for that, I plan on continuing here, I do have more already.)

Enuma Elish apparently . ... With an adaption to support the idea of Judaism . . . you might be getting back to the 'core' here .

Where ; together they ( 2 ) created the Shekinah ( the 3rd thing ) ; hence generating the 'ideal' triangle (or 'Supernal Triangle ) , that then forms the 'real' world ( the universe ; of the 4 elements / 4 forces of physics ) .

No, I would not do that to you :D . Probably have to go in controversial section actually.
