I've always wanted to explore this more but outside of limited time Budget never had time to more deeply. paintings as a method of magic. While many hold that magic is a fleeting thing at times some paintings hold cursed reputations. One such painting is the infamous "lady of the rain" a painting that haunts the owner with visions of well "the lady of the rain".

There's handfuls of other examples of "haunted" paintings but I wonder if there is any examples of "blessed" paintings? Painting the bring health or joy in a near magical fashion.

I want to experiment with this more, working magic into painting but always feel particularly limited by the mundane nature of the pigments I use. I've read up on paint creation and it seems simple it's just finding pigments with suitable aspects, any recommendations?

Just one: Do it.

Practice. If you keep reading about it, nothing gets done. I love combination of occult and art. I love to draw my sigils with pencil, while instead of one symbol I cover entire A4 paper with whatever symbolizes and expresses my intent. Drawings/paintings of gods and angels and other spirits are quite common.

If you don't have money for paintings and such stuff, pencil and few papers or notebook with not-linked papers anyone can afford.

Here example of my digital work I used for magic:

I have created paintings for personal use that have had extremely effective results, what matters is the intentionality and authenticity that's expressed in the painting. It's completely unique to the painter, though others can be affected too depending.

Some of the most jarring and unsettling experiences I've had involved meditating on sigil-paintings, I had to stop because I felt like I was playing around with nuclear fission and wasn't equipped enough, I still don't feel 100% confident I'm ready because of how visceral it became.

I have to confirm that. My own artwork granted me awesome results. Also doing it yourself among other things ensures that you can imprint on it exactly what you want from it. No one got to it to manipulate it their own way or for their own advantage.

Also impressive result that you found way more power than you expected. Didn't face that myself.

I hadn't really intended to do it, I was experimenting idly and had attempted to connect with a Familiar. There is a difference between looking at an artwork and closing your eyes to meditate on it, and actually seeing with your own eyes an inhuman animated entity taking the form you've created and staring back at you through an interdimensional portal you created in your sacred space. It was terrifying as shit and I instantly ended the working because I felt very unsafe. I understand now very clearly why circles of salt and all kinds of protection-work is advised, it's not casual or fun business, it's real and can put you in mortal danger if you play with it.

I started oil painting recently. After a dream where the Intelligence of Tunnel Zamradiel made it known she desired tokens of substance and shadow - not things bought or held, but things become.
