[Tutorial] PALMISTRY: THE CALCULATION OF EVENTS

Informative post.
Yes, indeed: the hand not only reveals the intimate characteristics of our personality, but even the exact moment when the decisive events of our life will occur. Try it for yourself...

LET'S LEARN HOW TO DETERMINE THE TIME PERIOD OF EVENTS

It is not only by considering the Life line that we can establish the important “dates” of our existence.

The calculation must be made taking into account the other three lines: Head, Heart, and Destiny.

Examining the various lines of the hand, we have seen that there are three main ones (the Life line, the Head line, and the Heart line), to which we can add a fourth that is almost as decisive: the Fate line (or Saturn line). We have already explained how each of the four lines relates respectively to life span, intellectual experiences, emotional experiences, and psychological and moral maturity. But at this point, it is interesting to establish at what moment in our existence, in what era (approximately), the most important events that will influence our character and our future are likely to occur. Here is how this calculation can be made.

Calculation on the Line of Life

As far as the Life line is concerned, the most traditional method is that described by Robert Allen Campbell in his book Mysteries of the Hand:

"Take a compass, fix the pin at the base of the index finger as the center, extend the other bar to the middle of the base of the ring finger. Draw a circle and mark this distance on the Life line. The part of the line between the top of the hand and the point thus determined will represent the first ten years of life. Then extend the movable point to the division between the ring finger and the little finger, and the distance thus found on the Life Line will determine the twentieth year of life, and therefore the space between the first and second points will constitute the life between the ages of ten and twenty.
The mobile point extending to the middle of the little finger, to the top of the hand and to the root of the little finger, to the percussion of the palm where it intersects with the Heart line, will respectively correspond to the Life line – thirty, forty and fifty years.
Then measure the percussion of the hand below the Heart line—two-thirds of the distance between the root of the little finger and the line itself—extend the compass to this point and mark the distance corresponding to sixty years on the Life line. For the following decades, take two-thirds of the distance given for the previous decade.
The years on the Life line are therefore read in descending order, from top to bottom (see drawing). The longer the line, the more longevity is assured. We use the conditional because in reality it is not at all certain that a short line indicates a short life. In fact, it has been noted very frequently that a short line can lengthen over the years. It is the subject themselves, with their will to live and their commitment to looking after their health, who can determine a prolongation of their existence and, consequently, a prolongation of the Life line on the palm of their hand.
In any case, a short line should be interpreted as a lack of vital energy, limited energy reserves, in short, a weak constitution. This condition may remain the same, improve, or worsen, depending on whether or not the subject reacts to this handicap.
We should also bear in mind that the short line, indicating poor vitality, must be present on both hands. In fact, very often the short Life line is only on the left palm (which concerns hereditary conditions), while it is longer on the right palm, indicating the contribution of our will and our desire to live.
A long, well-defined lifeline, however, is certainly a favorable sign of great vitality and an excellent omen for a long and healthy life. If, on the other hand, there are breaks along the lifeline, we must interpret them as a danger of illness (again, for the break to be cause for concern, it must be present on both hands). By carefully observing the point where the interruption occurs, we can calculate approximately at what age the illness is likely to occur.
If the interruption is flanked by parallel lines on both hands, there is no need to worry: it means that we have an additional source of energy that comes to our aid in critical moments, a kind of hidden reserve or occult protection.
If the break is bent toward the thumb, it means that the illness is likely to become chronic. In this case, we must do everything in our power to prevent this chronicity from occurring, as far as possible, at the age when the illness occurs.
If the Life line is interrupted by small transverse lines, it means that, during those periods, our vitality and health will be disturbed by nervous imbalances. These psychological ailments will be more serious if they appear at the beginning of the line (youth) or towards the end (old age).

Calculation on the head line

Unlike the Life line, whose curve can be used to calculate the passing of decades at almost regular intervals, the Head line marks stages that are wider and more spaced out from 10 to 30 years of age, and then closer together from 30 to 50 and beyond (as can be seen in the illustration). This is because the most important events relating to our intellectual life and the formation of our personality occur within the first thirty years.
Interruptions are therefore more worrying in that first section and indicate the presence of psychological difficulties, nervous disorders, conflicts with parents, all elements that can disrupt the normal development of our intelligence and creativity.
If, after interruptions in the first section, the Head line continues more clearly, sharply, and deeply to the end, it means that in adulthood we have been able to overcome all problems to achieve a good mental and nervous balance.

Calculation on the Heart Line

When calculating the stages of the Heart Line, it is important to bear in mind (as shown in our diagram) that the first 30-40 years are very far apart, while from 40 onwards the decades appear closer together. The reason for this is that love life is richer in events and vicissitudes in early and middle youth. The interruptions we see in the section corresponding to the first thirty years indicate, little by little, anxieties and pains due to broken loves, separations, and stress. If the interruption is particularly sharp, it may also indicate heart problems that to some extent somatize heartache.

Calculation on the Fate Line

The Fate line also indicates the period of events with very spaced-out lines from 10 to 30 years, then condensing the following 40-50 or more years in the final part (see drawing).

Again, the reason for this is that we build our own destiny in the first thirty years of life by setting our way of thinking and acting according to a certain scale of values. If we cultivate moral, professional, and human qualities, we are more likely to have a future full of satisfaction, recognition, affirmation, and success.
If the Fate line breaks off at around the age of 20-30, it means that we are unable to make the most of our potential qualities. (But be careful: even the Fate line, like the Life line, can lengthen over the years. It depends on the drive we give to our will and ambition).
The breaks indicate obstacles that we may encounter in certain periods of our lives in the realization of our projects. If the Fate line continues clearly and beautifully in the last part, it means that the difficulties are overcome and that in mature age we will receive the recognition and affirmation that we lacked in the first half of our existence.

We will obtain important information from the synthesis of the lines.
