Peter J Carroll appearance

Hello everyone,

I've been researching the history of Chaos Magick and Peter J. Carroll's work (Liber Null, Psychonaut, etc.), but I've noticed that photographs of him are extremely difficult to find.

Does anyone happen to have a verified photo of Peter J. Carroll, or know of any interviews, convention appearances, or publications where he appears? I'm specifically looking for authentic images and would appreciate any sources or references.

As far as I know he was always consciously avoiding personal publicity; in one interview (which he gave over a voice call) he said it's because having your face known is a magical vulnerability..

I feel he might have even gone out of his way to have any in public removed.

I have always been one for not wanting to know what a author of a book looks like as it can flatten your expectations of how you would perceive them, it's what they say that counts.

I'm fairly certain there were never any photos of him posted on the internet. Most recently, the late Gordon White mentioned that on his final Rune Soup podcast. But I've seen and heard for years that nobody knew what he looked like, save for those who met him in person.

Sorry that person does not look like the photos of Peter Carroll I have seen online. He passed away recently and you should be able to find a memorial photo now.

That definitely isn't him.

Pete made a point of keeping photos off the Internet. If you Google you'll get photos of Ray Sherwin, an old guy who did an interview with Pete, and other random stuff.

None are him. Yes I've met him.

Out of respect to the IOT and Carroll’s desire to stay off the Internet, I am going to decline. However, here is the valediction from Carroll’s THE EPOCH that a few friends remembered him by – a parody of “My Favourite Things” from THE SOUND OF MUSIC (1965):
