You know, this would make a great addition for our library provided the file is hosted on mega.io. In here hidden in a reply, it could be overlooked.

It's not a book, so posting it outside the library is technically not against forum rules.
Sure, once the book is complete, I will definitely do that! :D

Right now, it's still a work in progress so I'm sharing it carefully with people who know their stuff and could provide valuable feedback. :)

I've developed a Rite to Aphrodite, employing Her Orphic Hymn and words of power, secret names and a chant scoured from the PGM. I've got a little booklet with instructions, a preeliminary part of a bigger work, here:

All feedback is welcome! Especially if you decide to try it out personally.
I've been experimenting with the processes in your booklet, and I've really enjoyed it so far! I find she's responsive, and soon I'll be writing my own devotional works.

Jason Miller has these lines to the graces in his invocation for Venus, which I think might be useful to include?
Encircle me with your retinue of goddesses and Nymphs
Suadela, grant powers of persuasion
Flora, bring blossom to all my works
Auxesia, give growth to my kingdom
Carpo, provide plentiful harvest
Aglaia, endow me with beauty
Thalia, bring festivity and financial gain
Euphrosyne, bequeath cheer and joy and love

Do you find the effects long a while e.g. a couple days , from the entire ritual combined (2 Enochian calls + PGM) ?
I've used it for 2 main purposes: 1) to build a sense of closeness with my co workers and 2) to clear obstacles for a personal project I'm working on. The coworker one was way more successful, but isn't something I can really gauge in terms of longevity, since once people get along and like each other, it's not really likely to change. For the obstacles, I don't think that particular rite calls on the most appropriate powers for what I was trying to effect. Calling on the spirits of the heavens and land seem like they'd be better for personal empowerment, success, and general blessings, but not so much for my obstacles involving logistics and paperwork.

For anything using angels, I noticed they came much faster and were much easier to communicate with. For deities, some manifested much easier in the space, but told me they don't really "use" the spiritual light that comes through with it for "effect-force". They said that's not how they (the deity) will work on what I had in mind. I think it's still worth it to experiment, since I didn't find any negative effects from it, other than maybe less sleep if I did the rite later at night.

Thank you for giving it a try! Enjoy!

Definitely a lovely piece to use in the Rite, I'll add it to my personal grimoire. I won't be adding it the booklet/public grimoire because I don't want to insert copyrighted material/another's work without permission. I'll definitely add it as recommended reading, though!

This gives me an idea that I should do more research into what Entities and Spirits respond to Aphrodite/fall under Her domain and add info on that. Thank you!

Has anyone got experience using costus and spikenard (muskroot) in your rituals? In the PGM, they are incenses associated with Mars and Venus respectively, but since they are less common than typical incenses, I wonder if they will burn as easily as frankincense on charcoal. The same for bay leaves, associated with Jupiter.

Hi everyone! I've been playing with the PGM and the Greco-Roman-Egyptian pantheon again 😅

The ones I've been using the most recently:
The Helios consecration from Alison Chicosky's Secrets of Helios book, PGM IV 1596-1715, a great general blessing
The Abrahamic blessing from PGM XXXV. 1-42, also a very great general empowerment
The Hidden Stele of Aion from PGM IV 1115-1226, which is GREAT for obstacle clearing in a non-aggressive way
The Headless rite (of course) from PGM V 96-172, as a preliminary invocation
The Hekate Ursa Major spell from PGM VII 686-702, for obstacle clearing in an aggressive way ;)
Stuff from Don Webb's Seven Faces of Darkness, which is all about Set PGM magic with a slight ceremonial bend.
Stuff I'm building out from Sara Mastros's Orphic Hymn Grimoire.

I plan on using the Full Moon spell from PGM IV. 2785-2890 this upcoming full moon, the Set-Typhon initiation to consecrate some wealth talismans based on how Jason Miller consecrated his Alligator Hand talismans that he used to sell, and some other ones I'm working on adapting for some new stuff.

Does anyone have some favorites or want to trade notes? I have a love spell I'm looking for someone to try out that combines PGM IV 1496-1595 and PGM IV 1716-1870.
When you did The Helios consecration from Alison Chicosky's Secrets of Helios. Did you feel anything? My legs were like pins and needles.

I usually feel a lightness in my chest and a sense of "weight" in my aura. I think I remember when I first started practicing the spell I would get a vibrating/buzzing feeling in my hands and fingers, but that doesn't happen much anymore.

Great topic, love the focus on practical experience!

Headless one ritual rocks. When using it before "Seven spheres" style evocation of planetary angels (sometimes paired with Heptameron conjurations) I get a lot better results (though my spirit perception is always shit).

I started experimenting with Helios conjuration, as well as pairing it up with ouroboros philactery form Alison Chicosky. I do get "energetic" response from it, and seems I did have good luck throughout the day when I used it, but I want to experiment more with it before reaching a conclusion. Ouroboros philactery is more difficult to gauge because protection is about preventing things from happening rather than making it happen, plus it's not the only protection I have. So far, so good, but I want it tested more.
Her methodology for ouroboros philactery was released publicly for free a while ago, can be found here.

Anyway, I'd love to hear more about Ursa Major spell.

Anyway, I'd love to hear more about Ursa Major spell.
So far I used 3 spells involving Ursa Major, two for Hekate and one for the smaller Big Dipper group within it for Set.

for the Hekatean spells, I found the PGM’s wording to be pretty aggressive, calling up a form of Hekate-Selene that leans into uses that are probably best for coercion, obstacle clearing, or commanding lower spirits beneath it (mostly the dead). I also found that it’s good for finding new magical teachers and traditions, but in my opinion Sirius is better for this! It can probably be good for cursing, but I don’t do that enough to for sure.

For the Set spell I used a lot of Don Webb’s Seven Faces of Darkness as inspiration, which seems to open up the Big Dipper for a large variety of uses. Jason Miller uses the typhonian initiation rite to consecrate a wealth talisman, which I found puts you in the very Setian position of being a “disrupter” when finding new opportunities. People looking for someone new after being let down, people desperate to fill seats for events leading you to something interesting, or just conveniently being the problem solver to something new popping up for someone!

I think this is a great field for experimentation, but my life doesn’t really go very well with constant Set invocations. too hectic! Webb’s book has the Big Dipper as a part of his framing ritual for the rest of the workings in the book, including a modification of the Mithras Liturgy for a seven year long Setian initiation. Again because of the difficulty I experience with Set, I would probably do the Mithras Liturgy as-is.
