Before all this, if you have any questions after you read, you encountered a problem after practice, or anything happened that gave you fear, or something that doesn't feel quite right. Feel free to ask in a comment below and I will respond when I see it to the best of my ability. I may overlook things since I am more advanced in my practice. Though I tried to cover all the problems I encountered and such and simplify it to the best of my ability. Don't worry, I don't bite. It has to feel right as well, when you do it, but juat because it feels off at first, you don't need to stop completely. It is like getting muscular fever very quickly when you exercise but then later on it is simple.
0. Introduction - skip to step 3 for the practice itself.
I will start by saying. I am a simpleton, my talent in magic is lacking. I don't see auras, i don't see chakras. I am as normal as everyone, in that regard.
But i followed the voice of the wind, my heart and it lead me to this meditation. If you want some mystery and magic in your life. Well, hate to say it, for those without talent, a big pit of boredom and mundane practice is needed. But if you have time and the inclination, do it, I guarantee results if you persevere.
I simplified it for my sake, cause I am a simpleton and kept persevering on it for years. Now let me give you the fruits of my labour, debugged and clean with western precision, no complicated ritual needed, no connection to any God or entity or such a thing, just pure clean learning and practice that sees results.
For those of you like me who lack a teacher or someome reliable, the best way to learn is by approaching fundamentals, simplifying and throwing away all the religious jargon out the window and just practice.
But I will explain that religious jargon as well as simply as I can and why the buddhists said what they said, from my own experience. In this regard the buddhist were far more advanced than us westerners, because they approached the fundamentals first, while we used intermediaries to work the fundamentals for us and when they were gone, we lost most of it, but remain with some half baked rituals no one properly understands that waste time mostly. We follow the recipe, but the ingredients are not there.
Now let me teach you how to gather those ingredients, ingredients you have in you, everywhere around you, free for use, no one will bat an eye if you take it. No candles needed, nothing. You just need your own body, which you have. You can be paralyzed or in bed, you can still do it, you can be lame, you can still do it. You just need to breathe, which I assume you are doing, cause you are alive and reading this post.
I didn't invent this meditation. Others have done the hard work. I just simplified it, removed the clutter and unnecessary stuff and tried to learn the fundamentals and see what works.
1. A bit of theory
Simplicity is key.
A bit of a riddle first.
"I speak without a mouth and hear without ears. I have no body but I come alive with the wind. What am I?"
"It is something that can whisper secrets to you but it never lies."
The answer is Emotion. Think on it.
- From the mind comes awareness, focus, it is an imperceptible field of connection all around the body, always present. Focus on something that hurts you, you will feel it stronger. When you focus on a part of your body for enough, it will heat up, get pressure, or even tingle. Your focus carries energy. All is mind.
-From the heart comes the voice of the wind, emotion, it is another imperceptible field that connects. The heart is near the lungs, the lungs gather the wind, the heart gives meaning to the voice of the wind, emotion. But emotion can be everywhere, not just in the heart, it can be everywhere in the body you gather the wind. All is emotion just like any part can feel pain, you can feel your body, you are connected.
-As for the genitals. Well, i am not understanding this yet fully. I can speculate though. Sexual energy is another form of connection. Well this is mostly on my part, cause virgin and all that, oh well.
Now what is the most raw in abundance imperceptible yet always needed thing? Air. Why is our heart so close to the lungs? Why do most emotions originate near it? The heart is gathering the voice of the wind and translating it for us in our own terms, offering a path forward through emotion.
2. Religious jargon explained.
Why do the buddhists tell you to cultivate virtue, compassion and all that?
Reasons: The voice of the wind is all around in your body, not just your lungs. All your body has emotion, you can feel pain in your toe, everywhere, not just at the heart. The heart is the conductor of this orchestra. When you cultivate virtues, you cultivate your Conductor, train him so he gives you more favourable song. Sometimes even negative song can be favourable, for example, you feel fear when you see someone, if your heart is well trained, most likely there is something dangerouns about that person to you, so you stay clear off of them.
So you cultivate virtues so that after you meditate and gather the wind around into your flesh, when it is released with emotion like a song, it is released to become a favourable prayer to you.
3. The practice, plain and simple. (I suggest going to the above, I did not write it in vain. So try to understand it, even if it feels like a puzzle. Some people understand the theory first, but if you are like me, you will understand the above only after practice. So here, the practice. Step by step.)
The below will still be a bit wordy, I don't like to let loose ends. It is mostly for your sake, but if you still don't get it. Ask me in the comments below and I will respond when I see it.
First I will tell you. You need perseverence. If you have time and feel like doing it, do so wholeheartedly. It is exciting, when you first discover it, I will tell you, even if boring at first, it will open a whole new world to you in time, the world of subtelty and emotion.
0. Focus or Awareness.
The wonders of focus and awareness can be understood best with breath. Most of the time you breathe and you don't even know it. But focus on your breathing and you will notice it. To train focus, is to train the ability to notice imperceptible things, to notice the imperceptible is to notice the magical. To notice the magical is to be able to slowly use it, to understand it is to become a master.
So focus on your breath, notice it, it was there all along, this will come in handy later.
1. Focus first.
- Touch something with your finger, anything. Notice that sensation? Keep your focus on it. To help, close your eyes and focus on it as if you are in the sensation, you are the sensation. Let all else dissolve but that singular sensation, keep at it, keep at it and notice what happens. The sensation will amplify. Maybe you will even get a tingle. Your attention carries energy and can be trained. At my level I can focus on a part of my flesh and it will heat up, heat up until it can even release a pleasant feeling, like a pleasant goosebump.
- Focus on your finger without touching anything, as if you are the finger, you are in the finger, your focus is in it. To help, focus on the emotion the finger gives, the sensation of it. Your finger is always there but if you focus on it more you will notice it more and if you focus even more it will start get a feeling of pressure and heat, even tingle. That is energy. You carry energy in it by your focus. Your blood will get closer to that spot.
2. Focus can be spread.
You can now focus on your entire palm, your entire hand, yes even your entire body. Experiment, force your focus to spread in your body as much as you can and as deep as you can. What will happen, you will get head pressure? Why? Because the head is directly connected to the focus, it is a sign that something is used.
I suggest not being too persevering like I did and letting the head pressure become so big it eventually unfolds and your head becomes blank and you lose sense of time... you will touch upon a new dimension, for me it was... terrifying. Now I have something that sticks to me and won't let go and it is... very scary, it keeps finding me, i run away, finds me again, ground again. A constant battle. Today though, I am winning.
3. Coming back to breath with focus, connecting it to flesh.
Now, put your focus in your palm and focus on the breath as well. Try to unite the feeling from your breath with the feeling from your palm. Persevere and your palm will eventually get cold when you breathe in and hot when you breathe out, you will even feel how it breathes. This is the start of learning the whole body breathing.
At a very advanced stage you can breathe with your entire body. This is not just simple breathing and an illusory feeling. If you continue, your body will charge up with energy and that energy will release with deep emotion, like a pleasant discharge, like an orgasm. That release is healing, in a way.
So how to do this. Again, close your eyes, it helps and focus on the sensation of your palm. Be in the sensation, force it at first. Later it will come naturally, but at first, you must force it, will it. So be in the sensation of the palm and notice your breath as well. Try to feel as if you breathe with your palm by focusing on the breath as well. To help, slow down your breathing and breathe slowly and deeply in and focus on how your palm sucks in the air as well. Slowly and deeply with the in breath.
Do the same with the out breath, slowly and deeply as you grasp the feeling. Persevere until you get it. When you breathe too quickly, the sensation is hard to grasp. But if you will it and breathe very slowly and deeply while trying to feel like your palm is a lung, like it is a nose sucking in air, slowly and deeply, you will get the sensation of in breath and out breath. It is like catching a sensation while constructing it, but it has an effect.
When you breathe in, it will cool down and suck in the air, when you breathe out, it will warm up and charged.
Charge your entire body like this and eventually you will get pleasant tinglings, energy releases. Listen to a song that makes you very emotional and you will get a pleasant goosebump. This is natural, but with more practice in this meditation it will amplify it.
4. Some warnings
-Listen to your body. Don't let the head pressure get uncomfortable too much, stop.
-Don't let your heart get a painful sensation in it, stop.
-The practice is best done when it feels pleasant. If it gets too uncomfortable, stop.
-Now in the beginning, when you start, there will be some uncomfortable things, this is normal, you are learning, but don't let it get too uncomfortable
-DON'T, DON'T TRY TO HAVE YOUR HEAD PRESSURE GET SO BIG THAT IT CAVES IN ON ITSELF AND UNFOLDS.
If you do that, you will touch upon something... horrific, terrifying, it will leave a big scar. So horrific and terrifying you will tremble for a long time and fight an invisible battle.
When you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes back. What you see you touch, what you touch upon also touches you. What you touch you connect with. The connection remains... What you connect with will keep calling you. Be careful what you connect with people. Some things are better left unknown and unconnected.
I used to be alright and have no problem. I overshot in my practice, let the head unfold and I touched upon something terrifying and even to this day I have the scar. I got schizophrenia immediately when that happened and it remains.
So my 2 cents, don't do that stupid thing. Practice dilligently, but do it spread out and consistent, instead of getting brave like I did and shooting yourself in the foot, or rather, brain, for life.
Nothing is what it seems. Magic, when went into deep, is dangerous stuff. It is like grasping in the dark? Walking in the dark is... terrifying.
I had enough of walking in the dark so I throw in the towel for a while and focus on the light I have here, the more nicer aspects, the honest less mysterious things like logic, math, programming so on.
Humanity has left those dark wanderings behind because of that. We are a species that hates pain and hates horrific stuff, that is why we build lights for each other and tools and many other things. So this meditation here is my light to you after my dark wandering and the warning stands.
-DON'T LET THE HEAD PRESSURE GET SO BIG YOUR HEAD UNFOLDS.
You will jump into an abyss and the stain will remain, I recommend against doing that, unless you feel truly prepared... warning, are you prepared for death? One can never be fully prepared. Everyone is terrified of death for a reason, that reason is valid.
As for those who suicide... lured in by false promises of those who want them harm, both internal and external, don't do it, keep clinging, that is your salvation.
