In Brazil, many traditional blessings and folk healing practices are passed from mother to child through generations, especially in rural areas. One simple blessing I learned is used to remove the “evil eye” or spiritual weakness from a child.

“Quebrante” is a traditional Brazilian folk term connected to the evil eye, spiritual exhaustion, envy, or harmful energy affecting someone — especially children.“Eu te pari, eu te criarei, se tiveres quebrante, eu te tirarei.”
