Took a rv workshop a while back from Paul H. Smith. Learned that in crv, while you want to empty your mind during the process, you also don't want to completely empty it either, first because not only is literally emptying your mind impossible and even assuming that you could the implications are in truth not liberating but rather disturbing but moreover if you did, you'd also remove any information psychically obtained about the target.
Whether or not a literal mind vacancy is impossible or not is beside the point. I of course am of the unmoveable position of literal impossibility though that aside Paul H. Smith does have a major point when he mentions that if you were to make your mind vacant that would also include getting rid of all psychic impressions. In other words you wouldn't be rving.
