Can someone explain exactly what the goal of this work is? For meeting and conversation with the Holy Guardian Angel? For self purification to be worthy to stand before God?

The reason for the questions are Ive heard from different sources those first two reasons, the third is my conjecture.

Found Abramelin in the Library, reading it tonight to answer my own questions.

I knew a fellow who went to Morocco for 3 months and spent the whole time doing the Abramelin work. He was paid by his employer (a publisher) and wrote a book about it - name escapes me at present.

Anyway he said the working was successful but not worth the 3 months of effort

I know in general it is looked at as Adept level material, that's why I associate it as a book on Knowledge and Conversation with the HGA.
This seems to be the general RHP view, or at least Golden Dawn/Thelema.

The conversation of your HGA is really the aim of the book. Self-purification comes as the path to meeting your HGA.

You would be well suited having communicated with HGA if undertaking goetian evocation, especially if you're astral projecting to communicate with the Goetian demons.
