It's not so much about what prayer you use ,I think it's more about being honest and ask like you would ask a family member that you know has your back.And always offer what you promised.Dedicated a small altar to him and offer just a glass of water daily and talk to him ,built a relationship with him.Spirit ,Saint and all shorts of entities are not ATMs.but respect and decent manners goes a long way. That's my humble opinion ,you do you .
