SHAMANIC MAGIC.
A prayer addressed to Bogdykhan Abai Geser.
Invocations to Abai Geser are performed on special occasions. They are used to combat drought, pestilence, and to ward off misfortune from relatives. In these troubled times for humanity, he can be called upon to heal and pacify our troubled world, as our hero did in ancient times. Abai Geser is powerful, wise, and noble. Do not invoke him in vain. Address him with concentration; light an herb in an incense burner and offer him the sacred smoke as you invoke him with all reverence and purpose. This invocation is called sang, "meaning recitation while burning herbs or incense to attract the spirit's attention." Remember that sacred smoke is also used in the Aryuulga, which is why the words "making a pure offering for purification" are constantly repeated there. You will see that the herbs commonly used in this ritual have special names there. You can use this invocation as a model for any shamanic invocations you might compose for your own work.
For incense, you can burn juniper, wild rosemary, spruce needles, frankincense, or cedar resin on the coals. Use one or more of these ingredients.
At the end of the invocation, state the purpose for which you invoked Abai Geser.
Prayer to Abai Geser with Incense Burning
Om maakhan! Om maakhan! Om maakhan!
You of the red clan, You with the reddish-brown face,
With a golden forelock,
With one face and two hands,
With an arrow with the sign of the thunderbird in your right hand,
With a bow with the sign of the tiger in your left hand,
With a helmet like the sun,
With a shield like the moon on your back,
With armor like stars on your body,
With a sharp sword of knowledge in your hand,
With a saddle studded with lapis lazuli,
On your chestnut horse Belgen,
Righteous Gesar Khan,
I summon you at this moment from your pure land!
To Abai Geser, with his (mighty) name,
With your thirty warriors,
With your three hundred and sixty
leaders of your army, I summon you.
I gather the essence of hundreds of millions of beings,
I offer a wondrous, pure sacrifice for purification.
I offer juniper, sandalwood, azalea, sage,
bogorodskaya grass, and wild rosemary.
I offer this to the ruler of the ten cardinal directions,
the magnanimous Geser Khan.
To you, who conquered the entire world,
Khubilgaan of the upper Tengri,
I offer a wondrous sacrifice for purification.
To you, who rule over all the burkhans
in your upper body, to you, who rule over the eight lus
and the mountain spirits, Geser Khan, I offer a purifying sacrifice.
To you, who crushed the wild demons,
To the mighty Gesar Khan, I offer a
purificatory sacrifice.
So that the affairs of faith and state may not be destroyed,
I make an offering to Gesar (the mighty)
name. To him who uproots and destroys enemies,
Who disrupt faith and state,
To Gesar Khan, I offer a purificatory sacrifice.
When threatened by fire, you are like water,
When threatened by wind, you are like a mountain,
When threatened by water, you are like a boat,
In the face of the enemy, you are like a lightning strike,
To you, terrifying Gesar Khan, I offer a
purificatory sacrifice.
In times of rivalry, you are the giver of the wind-horse,
In times of arrow-shooting, you are the giver of accuracy,
In times of battle, you are the giver of additional strength,
To you, magnanimous Gesar Khan, I offer
a purifying sacrifice.
You gave speed to my beloved horse,
You became the spirit of my feeble body,
You protected me like a hat,
You majestically followed me like a shadow,
To you, magnanimous and pious Gesar Khan, I
offer a purifying sacrifice.
To the one who rides the blood-red horse
on the red cliff,
To Khubilgan (Tsaichin Tengri) I offer
a purifying sacrifice. To those with a yellow dog walking before them and a flying raven,
I bow to the nine Dalha Tengri banners,
Guardian of the boundless power of the white side of the world,
Lord of Mount Dongjing Garabuu
I offer a purification sacrifice.
To the Tengri, water spirits, and nature spirits of this mountainous world
I offer a purification sacrifice.
To Dain Derhe of incomparable power and his companions
I offer a purification sacrifice.
Erase the enemies of the state.
Destroy the enemies of the faith.
Grant us peace and happiness.
May the windhorse grow stronger.
May the brawler grow. Grant the witch's power in business to increase
profits,
Grant the opportunity for profit in our travels.
Let us find game on the hunt,
And let our saddle bows never be empty.
I ask that all this happen quickly.
Gi gi suu suu lha-a i luu
Gundu saravan duu duu hum.
Bazhar ayuki sukha.
Manggalam.
