I will get it started by sharing that imagination is the most important thing for any ritual magickian. Develop it in any ways you can think and never stop. Just create, create, create. Its the basis of everything else and the most powerful thing in all rituals. Try "What if?" scenarios. Pick an everyday object and create a fantastical story around it. Use your opposite hand, frequently. Draw. Engage other modalities than the primary one you're using. Try and over ride incoming signals using polarity. Sit on a bench in a busy place and give the people passing by stories and adventures etc etc.

There is no end to this practice and its very enlightening plus it unlocks a lot of your subconscious as well along with creating new neural connections. If you've taken drugs or are familiar with altered states get back there sober as well. No limits beyond those you accept and this simple exercise will prove it to you very, very quickly.

My most powerful piece of knowledge is the simple realization of the two paths-one toward becoming a God and the other toward merging with the Source. I have gotten this realization from remembering past lives where I was taught it and the moment in this lifetime when I realized it again was my most powerful initiation, my deepest revelation, my most occult moment. I think this simple revelation actually explains the entirety of occultism and esoterica by itself. There are two paths a Soul can follow-toward becoming a Creator or toward giving up its essence, its very free will to this Creator and thus doing its bidding. The souls that choose to become Creators must go through a very harsh process of an enormous amount of inner work to choose a plan for an entirely new Creation where they would be the Creators themselves, while the souls that choose to merge with our own Creator get a path that ultimately frees them from all suffering but at the price of their existence. Thus, there is a choice every soul in existence, in this Universe must make-either accept pain and suffering as the price one must pays for existence and live with them for the sake of spreading that existence as far as one can and living your truest potential as a Creator being yourself, or, give up on your creative personality and accept that live is inevitably entangled with pain and suffering and the only way to get rid of them is for you to merge with your infinite Creator erasing yourself out of existence in the process.

For me that's the most powerful occult thing I have ever learned and the most powerful truth of this Universe, this Creation, this existence, period!

For a practitioner of ritual magic, imagination is the inner power that shapes invisible forces, allowing them to take form through words, symbols, gestures, and will. A simple practice I value is taking one symbol, color, divine name, planet, angel, or ritual tool and contemplating it until it becomes more than an idea. Let it become atmosphere, sensation, emotion, direction, and presence.
I would also add the importance of recording everything after ritual: images, sensations, dreams, resistances, insights, and external results. Over time, this builds a personal magical language.

So yes: create, create, create. But also refine, record, test, and return. Imagination becomes power when joined with concentration, repetition, and sacred intention.

Good advice. I tend toward the analytical so I have to work hard to be creative

This times a thousand percent. On days where I am too tired or low energy to do physical rituals, then I will often to my rituals astrally.
Not only does this train your brain in visualisation even harder, it also can enable states of bi and tri location. Of course there is also no substitute for the physical ritual, with body moving and prana/energy that it engages in your selves, and in your environment. but astral work is great for what you are describing. Also , to try and not fall asleep.
