Hello!

Recently, I heard someone say, “if you’re not interesting in social climbing or financial gain then you shouldn’t be study the occult.”

I do know there’s an inclination for some to use the occult as a coping mechanism or some system fueling delusion. But, I think that statement might be a little pragmatic

Well, I don't think that the statement you heard is relevant to the occult. Social climbing, financial gain? The occult is not like the usual Hollywood stuff that we see in various movies where someone engages with "dark rituals" to ascend on top of the hierarchy of some kind of "secret order" or to literally earn billions at the lottery etc.

The occult, in many historical times has been used to ascend / evolve the soul, establish deep communication with the Divine, discover advanced knowledge, healing and various other purposes which are not related to material gain.

One may use the occult for material gain though, but even there, it is important to be realistic as to not let yourselves be fooled by moral wolves who sell fake money / financial success courses and practices for example (e.g.: one common thing that moral wolves like to do when selling fake manifestation courses is to tell you that simply stating "I win (x amount) of money immediately" will surely bring you the desired sum into your bank account immediately, even if let's say you, the person who looked upon the manifestation course in question doesn't have a job (which acts as a portal to circulating the energy of money)) and also to not wish for something way too big.

Another example is the one where you wish to gain money through the occult but it is important that you make sure that the outcome will be positive for you. And besides all of this, an adequate dose of reality is welcomed, so as to not have way too big of expectations or experiencing a negative outcome that would still give you the money.

So, in short, yes, you can use the occult for material gain, but without focusing too much on this aspect, or else we will get avaricia (greed).

I would have responded ; ''What would you know about it then ?'' and probably find out they know next to nothing .

people sprout all sorts of opinionated bull shit , you don't have to give it any validity .
