Sigils for yourself after death

All spirits seem to have a sigil to contact them. Can I do the same?
Can a person make his own sigil for his/her family and others to contact him/her after they are dead?
I just had a thought in my head.

The Romans made small figurines of the dead around the time of death. These were thought to be a way of keeping the dead in touch. I did it once, but second-thoughts and augury suggested to me I was being pretty damned selfish delaying them like I was. There may be other ways of construing the matter. The novel "Return to Whidbey"'s opening scene has an incident where the protagonist did that for his much loved dog. I think it drops some hints about how-to.

Bottom line, if you're cool with the link, try the sigil method. There is the question, though, of whether the sigil works more like a chain to a spot or just esoteric social media.

pretty cool idea, not sure how the contact piece would work. maybe Raziel since he's a spirit guide that connects you with other spirits can give you more insight about how to it.

It's common for magicians to make a symbol that represents them, a lamen or seal or sigil or whatever. The more you identify with that, or the more you use it, the stronger the connection becomes. Some years ago I used this to evoke living persons (who actively encouraged this) so I don't see why it wouldn't work once they are dead.

There've been a number of grimoires I've looked through that give the sigils of past magicians that've become powerful enough to be listed among the sigils of demons.

I imagine it would be like posting your cellphone number online, could get kind of annoying for a magician who wants a peaceful after-life.

Interesting idea. I don't see any reason why you couldn't try if you wanted to.

So restrict it to one or more specific bloodlines when you create it & reinforce that when you charge it - think of it like adding a biometric 2fa-like function to the magic.

You could make it a family coming-of-age tradition to summon forth the most powerful sorcerer of the lineage (you of course) then take that opportunity to prune the family line of anyone who pisses you off.

I wrote about this recently in an article about honoring shitty ancestors, lol. One of the exercises was about writing out things that YOU would want on YOUR altar after your death, for your friends/family to honor you. I assume that creating your own sigil could be one of those things.

I believe Anne Rice switched from devils to aliens as her mythos in Lestat and The City of Atlantis or whatever. I listened to all her books at my last job.

Explanations doesn't help much with understanding because it is, basically, an integration of various pseudosciences like basic numerology, symbolism, ezoteric knowledge, astrology, a bit of psychology, arhetipal associations from tarot keys of major arcana ... all basic stuff and looks like this

The good thing is that we don't have to die yet in order to have our own entity signature sigil
