Simple Method for Creating a Sigil

This is a basic sigil-making method I learned for turning an intention into a symbolic design charged with meaning and focus.​

1) Write your intention​

Keep it short and direct.

Example:

“Banish all negativity”

2) Remove the vowels​

Example:

Bnsh ll ngtvty

3) Remove repeated letters​

Example:

Bnshlgtvy

4) Create an alphanumeric grid​

Assign letters to numbers from 1–9.

Example layout:

1	2	3	4	5	6	7	8	9
A	B	C	D	E	F	G	H	I
J	K	L	M	N	O	P	Q	R
S	T	U	V	W	X	Y	Z

5) Find your remaining letters in the grid​

Example:

B N S H L G T V Y

6) Convert the letters into numbers​

Write the corresponding numbers and remove repeated numbers if needed.

Example:

2 5 1 8 3 7 4

7) Create a number wheel​

Draw a circle and place the numbers 1–9 around it in any order you prefer.

Then connect the numbers from your sequence with lines.

The final connected shape becomes your sigil.

You can simplify or stylize it afterward until it feels intuitive and personally meaningful.
