So I can’t guarantee my experiences have been anything more than dreams and/or hallucinations, but…. I’ve had a lot of them. More accounts of sleep paralysis than I can count, although almost zero accompanying hallucinations or visions outside of a notably warped version of what I already knew to be my surroundings, ( I.e.: zero encounters or sightings of entities or the like during these episodes). I could write a book about my weird dreams that felt unnervingly realistic and stuck with me for days up to years after waking; and I have had some fairly unique experiences from a compound known for it’s unique experiences.
Ok, I’m a text yapper so I’ll try to keep this as short as possible. Going in order, my nighttime adventures (or horrors) in sleep paralysis began in my 20’s, several years clean and sober as well as unmedicated through traditional means. I had recently gotten out of the army and was living alone in a studio apt when after work, while laying resting on my bed I became aware of a distinct warping in my room, as though a curved funhouse mirror version of my apt interior were facing back at me. I cannot describe the terror of consciously trying to move one’s body and being unable to. The effort to let out a scream that cannot escape the lips except as an occasional low murmer or whispered hum only compounds the visceral terror felt at these time.
I don’t know how long I laid there until I suddenly and violently came out of the trance for lack of a better word, shaken to the core and confused and afraid as I had ever been in my life to that point. Although that was 20+ years ago, it has been a steady reoccurrence in my life ever since, with periods of respite lasting months or sometimes years in between, then with no warning I might have back to back to back episodes, sometime occurring multiple times in the same night. For instance, after.a year or two of nothing, I have experienced the phenomenon thrice in the last month.
Shadow-men and hat-men do not play into my experiences, although I have experienced other entities invading my bedroom at night though with no paralysis to accompany them. Usually black, vaguely humanoid, mostly small stature (maybe 1-1 1/2 ft tall), almost akin to an anime representation of a spirit or shade. Plus one encounter similar to “crone” accounts, where I awakened to a pitch black entity straddling my chest, and for what reason I do not know, I assumed it was my young daughter trying to play-wrestle with me. I spent the next few moments wrestling with something of a similar size to a child of 8 or 10 before falling off the bed and looking up to see it literally evaporate before my eyes. As full consciousness came back to me I quickly realized my daughter was at her mothers for her duration of the joint custody agreement and I was home completely alone. There’s more but I think that’s enough about the first topic.
Now regarding the topic of dreams, I’m not super keen on the idea of being one of those guys that talks about bizaare, disjointed, seemingly endless dream sequences, because I’ve done that to too many people in life over the years now as is to make it very much fun anymore. What I will say is that I, like I imagine many people, have regular vivid dreams that are detailed to the point of my dream self recognizing them as reality and my dream avatar even being able to recall on past events and memories that could only exist in said dream, unrelated to any experiences of my own. That being said, upon awakening I am always aware that what I experienced, no matter how realistic or repetitive or familiar the setting, I never question that it was an experience from a dream and not reality. I bring this up solely to differentiate the statements made prior as, in my judgement at least, to be of an entirely different animal then anything resembling a typical dream.
And lastly, I only have one final experience to share regarding the third and final topic: during a period of semi-regular use of the aforementioned third topic from this posts title, there was a consistent theme to my primary location for most of these trips, in that whether alone or with others, in my garage, through easily 50+ experiences, the concrete floor of my garage would become exactly like an aquarium glass floor with murky swamp like waters and the decay and detritus one would expect floating and swaying with gentle currents. I saw this regularly to the point I would often avoid looking directly at the floor during these times, however on one such journey by myself I watched as a white salamander like creature swam up to the glass and after struggling a bit pushed its head up through the invisible barrier and immediately melted into a puddle, after which I left and upon my return the next day, fully sober, the spot the I had witnessed the intrusion had a chalky white stain on the concrete that I hadn’t noticed before and upon closer inspection the solid smooth concrete floor had become brittle and could be scraped up with a dull piece of metal with no effort put behind it in only that spot. I am quite curious if anyone else has had any experiences to which could potentially link the physical world we reside in with the realms accessible only through releasing our physical chains of perception.
or maybe I’m crazy. At this point, make of any of it what you will. If you’ve made it to this point, congratulations. Or not. I guess that’s really up to you. These are all 100% true accounts if only a few of many that I have experienced, and whether you think I’m accurate in my assessment, full of it, or full blow wack-a—doo, I’d like to hear any thoughts
