Solar Adorations

Greetings, I am curious to know if others keep to a consistent practice of solar adorations around these parts (either in the spirit of Liber Resh vel Helios or otherwise)? I’d also extend this question to overall devotion to Solar deities, since that has been a current I frequently dip my toes into. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I don't do those daily greetings anymore, but since you also ask about Solar deities:

In Carl Nagel's book “Babylonian words of Power” he gives a chant to Shamash, which is intended to be recited on Sundays, either at sunrise or at noon.
I really like this chant a lot, been using it every Sunday for years. When you speak the text, think of things that you have overcome / enemies that you have beaten and worries that have faded, and how these victories now fuel your fire.
The text:

Shamash! Thou kind Spirit of the fiery Orb
and all which is pure in the Cosmos,
I require thee to bathe me
in thy Mystic Rays
Remove from my Mind and Soul
all negative thoughts and emotions,
both known and unknown.
From this moment forth
my mind and soul shall know only the joy and happiness
thou hast the power to grant.
I will become an individual whose life is filled
with happiness, success and contentment.
Any and all obstacles on my path
are now removed and cast into the everlasting
fire of thy abode.
I will be happy in each and everything I say and do,
with thy help,
Shamash!
So mote it be.


This chant may or may not have been inspired by a prayer to Shamash as given in Leonard W. King's “Babylonian Magic and Sorcery”:

DAIAN ILANI BIL IGIGI
SHAMASH
BIL SI MAT MATI USURATI AT TA MA
SIM TI SI IM A LAK
TI DU UM MI IK
LI SIRA I DA TU U A
LID MI KA SUNAT U A
SUTTU AT TU LA
ANNA DAMIKTI SUK NA

Which King translates as:

O Judge of the gods, Lord of the Igigi
O Shamash, lord of the land's destiny,
the (…) of charms art thou!
Decree my destiny, make pleasant my path!
Let my powers be propitious!
Let my dreams be favourable!
The dream I have beheld do thou establish favourably!

the (...) obviously should be something like “lifter”, “remover” or “dissolver” or similar.
The word IM translates as “to run” or “rain” and IMA is “storm”

Ever since a young child I wanted the sun gone I enjoy the heat it gives off but I've always disliked the light it gives off so for my personal practice I don't really acknowledge the sun or give it praise. The only thing I really give attention to planetary wise is saturn.
