Some crazy visuals after 6th Day of Temple of Ascending Flame project

I've done the 7 day Temple of Ascending Flame Project and at the night of day 6, i woke up in the middle of the night feeling very eerie.

I was not in sleep paralysis since i could move, and I wasn't dreaming cuz reality checks confirmed it, but i felt a strange feeling of parts of my body in tingling density. I closed my eyes and i could see clearly a purple image, constantly shifting into different Lovecraftian monsters, I recognised a lot of Cthulu-esque pattern, and one point a giant eye staring and blinking, tentacles. It was incredibly unnerving but not necessarily evil feeling. I just tried to relax and enjoyed the show.

Does anyone know of this phenomena?

Its a common side effect of sustained practice. Dreams get weirder, many report an increased amount of seeing flashes of things at the periphery of their vision, more and deeper unprompted inner visuals. Lots of differing ideas about whats causing this. I was doing a lot of candle gazing once and my field of vision became like paint smearing together after a few days.

How long for someone not particularly sensitive person to get these effects you described?
I know everyone is different and no exact answer exists, I am asking how long is it roughly... an average, a range, a ballpark.
