I've recent become interested in Tarot cards and such. I'm interested in finding informative books for starting out. Does anyone have any good recommendations that are a good starting point. Thanks in advance.

Some people (including myself) have started with Benebel Wen's book "Holitic Tarot". It sits in a nice spot between being for beginners, but not too simplistic. I can recommend it.

There are many beginners books, thought, and often it can help to just take one you feel pulled towards. Because there is a bit of a steep learning curve at the beginning, so to keep the energy up, it makes sense to get a book that just makes you feel good or at home when you read it.

And then just do pulls and look up the meaning of the cards, and with practice and repetition, they'll start to stick.

as a starting point. It's been around for years and is free, so you can have a little look around before buying books. There's loads of good modern authors knocking about like Mary Greer and Rachel Pollack, not really sure what is out there right now. I actually use ChatGPT nowadays to discuss small daily draws and what they might mean in the context of my life.

Not a book recommendation, but I was taught to learn tarot by meditating with the cards. I would spend a long time looking at each card, paying attention to its details, symbols, atmosphere and the emotions it evoked in me. And then try to interpret it for myself.
This way helped me to form my own connections to the cards. It was only much later that i learned the "traditional" meanings and correspondences

Tarot Skills for the 21st Century by Josephine McCarthy. I'm not sure how much you'd learn from it if you're not a Quareia apprentice, but I still think the skills taught in this book would be useful.
