Temple of witchcraft? Trying to find a good, structured starting point

Hi all

I’m interested in Magick, intuition, healing, ritual, psychic abilities, exploring subtle realms, connecting with beings/angels..I’m trying to find the right place to start..quereia and franz seems a bit overwhelming to me—I’m not sure if I would stick those out. people say after a certain level bardon gets a bit tedious.

I’m sort of thinking about Jason Millers work as I like how he blends eastern influences, but also Christopher penczak seems to have a well structured mystery school available that might help build a good foundation

can anyone speak on the temple of w experience? Would it be okay for someone who doesn’t 100% consider themselves a witch or Wiccan?

Bardon is challenging indeed. but first level is worth doing, honestly. You can also get similar good starting point with Liber Null.

Please, keep in mind, that magic is mainly about practicing. like developing spiritual muscle. You can get out of it what you put into it.

You can try many schools of magic. Faery witchcraft, that is a study book, or Webb's Modern Magus, or Jason Miller. Any can work... if you actually do the work.

Thank you. I have Mat Auryns psychic witch..I’ve read somewhere that psychic witch is like a modern version of Bardons hermeticism book. Would that be a decent substitute?

No. I don't think that Psychic Witch can replace Bardon. (IIH) They have very different aim, each being very different and unique. Also I've noticed that a lot of later works of magic seem to be based on Bardon to lower or greater extend.

However you can of course never practice Bardon and you can be pretty fine. If you don't want to do Bardon, don't. I never did Goethia and I'm fine myself. Also I never got past second or third level of IIH myself.

If you want something more modern i think "The New Hermetics: 21st Century Magick for Illumination and Power" is a good middle road. The author himself says it's a more chaos approach but the all system is interesting and cohesive.

Also Jason Miller's program "Strategic Sorcery" includes a whole re invention of Bardon's theories.

I can only advice to pick a system, stick to it and see what happens.

My partner and I host an online magic temple that offers weekly livestream services and annual initiation cycles. People in it largely practice independently but come around the community for guidance and to learn from each other. DM me if youre interested. The community is an intersection of hermeticists and witches. So its kind of what you get when you combine the two.
