One thing I always kept in mind, when I first decided to start my journey as a thaumaturge, was that the image I had in my head of one that does miracles is also that of one that is very knowledgeable, very apt at whatever they do.That has many skills.

So in order to embody what I aim to become I decided to also start learning new things, be it theoretical or practical.
So far this is my list:

I picked some Aikido books and am currently watching some YT videos in order to learn more about the mindset of this martial art.
Because that is what I want to take out of this rather than to learn to use it for self-defense.

I have nothing against Aikido nor martial arts in general but it is known that majority of them would never actually help in a dangerous situation-in case you couldn't escape and had to fight-and everyone saying that these martial arts would be "the one" to help you survive are being delusional or dishonest.
Yes, it's always better to know at least one martial art because in case the other person knows none you might have a slight advantage against them if they aren't armed, but fighting to survive or fighitng on the streets isn't something orderly or safe like sparring inside a dojo or even those MMA events where they have rules.

It's chaotic, it's brutal and it's sudden.

What martial arts can help you with is developing the mindset to be ready for aggression-is anyone ever really ready for it?-and to not loose your marbles during it so you might have hope to get away unharmed or just slightly injured.Because if you freeze up then it's guaranteed that you will get hurt or even die.

Of course, the theory is one thing and the practice is another, but right now I am picking up all these theoretical knowledge I can and hope to never need to use it "for real".Aside life threatening events, this ability to keep calm and composed under adversity will help immensely in my day to day life, specially when dealing with my anxiety.

I also started doing some simple calisthenic exercises in order to start building-up my strength.Just the classics: push-ups, pull-ups, dips, (trying to)handstands, squats and some specific exercises, along with one or two mobility workouts.
