Before the beginning, there was nothing...
Only the radiance of an incredible consciousness.
All creation emerged from this Radiance—
Spinning from the center,
spinning in being, spinning in time,
spinning in the wheel of life...
From vast spiral galaxies
stretching across thousands of light-years,
to trillions of atoms swirling within a grain of sand,
the Universe is composed of spinning
circles of energy,
spinning circles of stardust
that give rise to life.
Circle upon circle, spinning through
space,
taking form,
moving in orbit,
circling the Sun,
spinning and evolving through time—
one yet many, giving rise to life.
With a single white moon, our radiant
blue Planet spins in space—
a planet of earth and water,
fire and air,
a planet of sound, light, and beauty,
and the consciousness of life.
A complex organism woven in
perfect balance—
this is Earth, our home,
an amazing wheel
where our life unfolds.
Born of the heart of the divine
spirit,
uniting in manifestation—
one yet many:
Father Sky and Mother Earth.
Between them lie seven layers of manifestation,
forming a rainbow bridge
connecting Earth and Heaven,
like steps from matter to Spirit.
They converge within our bodies, just as we
are interconnected with one another
and with the infinite abundance of life,
as if striving to attain awareness.
The line along the central channel
is called the sushumna,
and seven chakras are positioned
from the base to the crown,
creating a pattern of energy... fields
They rotate due to
the intersection of two main currents—
one rising from below and one descending from above.
These currents move between the chakras.
The centers spin like motors,
propelling us on our journey through life.
Together, the seven chakras outline
a formula for us all—
a unified model for awakening.
The chakras are positioned in the body
according to levels of consciousness.
We now turn to the lotus of each chakra.
A red, four-petaled lotus
sits at the base of the channel.
The first chakra represents
the material world,
a state of dense existence—
the force that gives form to energy
and creates the density
we perceive on the physical
level.
Its element is Earth.
It is linked to instincts
of survival and self-preservation.
This chakra is our primal connection to the Planet;
it is the matrix of Life.
Legend has it that the energy of the feminine deity
Shakti—embodied as the Kundalini serpent—lies sleeping,
coiling three and a half times
around the first chakra,
uniting all material elements
into one
Upon awakening, Kundalini energy
rises toward the heavens,
filling and awakening each chakra
In search of its divine
partner, Shiva, who dwells
in pure consciousness
This chakra is called Muladhara,
meaning "root" or "foundation"
To have a foundation for the long journey
upward,
we need deep roots
reaching into the Earth
Here you come home to
enjoy the peace and tranquility
that Nature grants us
Contemplate your roots here in the Earth,
turning to the Temple of your body
Muladhara now remains
awakened at the base of the channel,
while we turn to the orange,
six-petaled lotus—
the second chakra, called Swadhisthana,
which means "one's own abode"
This chakra relates to the water element
of our existence
It is the constant dawn and flow
of polarity and opposites
They move toward
each other
to unite
into a single whole
Here we observe the primal
movement of life energy,
guided by the currents of the soul,
stirred by our aspirations and
desires
At the level of the second chakra, the Kundalini
serpent connects and separates
energy flows,
creating the eternal Yin and Yang,
spinning in constant balance
In the body, this chakra is located at the level
of the sacrum and hips
It is the center of movement,
sensuality, pleasure, and
desire
When two bodies join
in erotic mutuality,
they become one whole in in ecstasy,
opening ourselves to the waters of passion
and the ocean of bliss.
Satisfied, we move
from the waters of the second chakra
to the element of the third chakra,
located at the solar
plexus—
to the yellow lotus of Manipura, which
means "full of precious stones"
or "lost pearl."
From earth to water, to fire.
Here, the wondrous radiance of consciousness
flares up as awareness of self,
of one's will,
breaking through
the resistance of the unified system.
Pulsing, tongues of flame
generate life and energy,
awakening our power to burn
with the aim of strengthening our will.
We keep this flame burning through
all constrictions and discomforts,
through all blockages, clearing the path
to freedom and power.
Once this fire has burned through,
this power must be tamed.
Through diligent practice, we unite
all energies within and around us.
No action—as we follow
the chaotic, burning serpent of Kundalini—
can harm the one who has tamed it
in Manipura. Then we ignite with strength
and might.
This fire sustains us as
we burn away our ego
and dissolve into the "lost pearl,"
which is the true
source of energy in Manipura.
Leaving the third chakra ablaze,
we rise toward the heart
to find the green,
twelve-petaled lotus
known as Anahata,
which means "unstruck and unharmed."
The element of this chakra is air,
and we ascend toward the softness
and spaciousness of the sky.
Now the Kundalini Serpent lifts us
up on wings of love
to embrace the awakening
of the divine spirit,
causing the heart to open
and soar freely,
expanding within the element of Air.
With every breath we take,
we reach for the infinite,
becoming light and spacious within.
In a playful dance, we enter
the hidden world of love and relationships
and transform the Ego, uniting
with all else in the divine
form of the heart.
Uniting heaven and earth,
masculine and feminine,
mind and body in perfect
balance,
the heart is a soft place—tender and
deep—a place of compassion and
connection.
Awakened, the heart begins to beat
to the rhythm of life,
pulsing its love through
all our relationships: with self and others,
cultural and planetary, human
and divine.
Once we open our own
hearts, we align with the heart of the World,
existing now within the bounds
of social understanding.
From the balance of the heart,
we move toward the sixteen-petaled
blue... to the lotus
located in the throat and
called Vishuddha, which means—
purification.
In the etheric realm of the throat chakra,
Kundalini awakens inner vibrations;
like sound carried by our breath,
it unlocks our expression of the music of the stars.
Listen to the whisper of the inner voice;
listen to the song arising in your heart.
From the primordial Om, a vibration
pulses through all of creation—
resonating, expressing, harmonizing,
synchronizing, and opening our voices
to sing our true
vibration of life.
From within to without, our expression
flows upon waves of vibration,
leading us ever onward
toward the Truth that lies
within us, and the Truth we
find in the world outside.
From meaning to vibration, to sound,
to language,
to communication and creative expression—
conveying music, knowledge, and poetry
across the ages.
As the fifth chakra vibrates in the throat,
we ascend toward the violet chakra—
a lotus with but two petals,
known as Ajna,
meaning "to foresee" or
"to look beyond."
Now Kundalini—a shimmering
serpent of light—
transcends the depths of our meditation
to open the sixth chakra:
the "third eye," the center of vision, illumination,
and the boundless realm of Light.
The two petals of this chakra bring
the duality of existence
into the singular focus of the third eye.
It is the chakra of vision and imagination,
the place where the source
of inner Light is revealed.
Focus on contemplating this center,
to find illumination,
seeking insight, to savor a constant vision
of the inner world
as awareness
pierces through illusions and
brings clarity
When the third eye opens between
our physical eyes,
we enter deep meditation,
revealing the inner light
Hold your gaze steady
amidst the multitude of thoughts
and find the portal
to inner mysteries and obscurities;
they will unfold into an elegant pattern
for the inner eye
Follow these patterns to
discover and realize your dreams
Seek your guiding vision
amidst the stillness of the inner world
Once we gain insight, the Kundalini serpent
rises upward, straight toward the sky,
filling the crown chakra—Sahasrara,
meaning "thousand coils"
When we are fully filled from
base to crown,
the seventh chakra can blossom
like a thousand-petaled lotus
of infinite consciousness,
emerging from the boundless point
of inner awareness
You are that awareness:
awakened, contemplating, understanding,
divine
With each unfolding into infinite
consciousness,
the nature of the mind knows no bounds
Direct your mind to
unfold its inner petals
Contemplate the unfolding radiance
of enlightenment
This is Kundalini meeting her
divine consort, Shiva—
Shiva, who gives birth to stars
and carries you high on a journey
to the heart of the cosmos
To the self-creating mind,
the center of the divine mind,
the universal to consciousness,
which is the source of all.
And now we return,
passing once more through all the chakras
in the flow of manifestation.
Knowing that we have awakened the thousand-petaled
lotus of cosmic consciousness,
We have seen the beauty of the inner world,
We have opened our throats in song,
We have reunited in love,
Burned emotions in the flame,
Danced in the waters of duality,
And found our Path home to Earth.
All the chakras within us—
awakened and radiant—are
part of a single whole.
United from the base to the crown,
full of energy and fully active.
From unity to multiplicity and
from multiplicity to unity,
We are the rainbow bridge between worlds.
