I thought maybe it would be more in keeping with the site to throw in some esoteric psychology for balance. Of course, there's a generation factor, I think. I grew up in the 1970s, so the Indigo phenomenon was big in that era.
Indigo children (or adults) have been assumed to be misunderstood autistic children, though personally I concluded the two cases are different. However, it is true to say the great Indian occultist from India (guru of Bruce Lee) was considered autistic at school in India. He was beaten by teachers.
So, what are indigo people? You can, if course, look it up. They are supposed to have a spiritual aura and are spiritually developed people who can be psychic and different in their way of thinking. As children they can be problematic. However, it pays to be very careful since Indigo children are not autistic but just "different". So, in the case of Jiddu Krishnanurti he went on to become a global, spiritual phenomenon.
This Indigo concept captivated David Bowie who became fascinated by the whole thing. Bowies interest inspired a 1970s kids program called The Tomorrow People, featuring Nicholas Young.
In my own research, I found references to what I assumed to be Indigos in a 2nd century philosophy essay. So, the concept is very old
