Does the spirit speak Arabic or Hebrew? Some magic books claim that spirits only speak these two languages. Is this true?

I can say this is inaccurate from all of my observations. Some spirits that are heavily connected to some cultures might understand the language spoken in those areas. Most spirits from my experience though don't really speak language and might not even interact with humans very often or at all. They tend to communicate through pure ideas and feelings amongst each other and humans. Most practitioners I am aware of use some method to translate that into language. Keep in mind this also does not speak to spirits that were formerly human at one point. Those types of spirits likely remember the language they spoke during life.

Please take any such claims with a massive grain of salt. I suspect someone might claim spirits speak Hebrew or Arabic because of the gematria associated with these languages - see for example the Arabic system of Ziraja. Whenever you can correspond letters to numbers, the alphabet is deemed magical and sacred. Off the top of my head, however, this is not limited to Hebrew and Arabic. Possibly texts like Sepher Raziel may have influenced this view…would like to hear experienced opinions on this matter.

I would say that the spirits are normally able to speak every language, as the conversation is telepathic. If you are speaking physically, they would still answer telepathically, because that is the natural way of communication in the "Spirit World".

As an absolute claim, this is of course ridiculous. This would mean that the ancient Shinto and pre-contact Native Americans never managed to communicate with any of their spirits. However, for those working in a particular tradition, appropriate use of that tradition's sacred language can be an important part of one's rituals.
