It's important to have the spark of creativity if you are left hand path.
I hate how stale and dogmatic and edgy the shit is nowadays
Does anyone have a lot of experience organizing their own pantheons?
Pantheons are essential with high magic and powerful alchemy

1.) Set as tetragrammaton, foundational force and agent of chaos.

2.) Tiamat as psychosomatic birther of the universe. Birthing is pain, violence being brought about. She creates with her dreams in slumber
Also Tehom. Hubur

3). Baphomet as creator- "third gender", duality, unity, being the "all" imminence, God but not God at all (no bible here lol), equated with the astral light

4) Lilith, Satan etc as children of Tiamat, I know this is overdone but they are adversarial entities birthed along with the universe
Challenge to the solar order and initiators of creativity and adversarial magic (black magic)

Many qlippothic pathworkers call the other Gods traitors, but I dont see it that way. Different strokes for different folks. All currents are valid to me.

I am so goddamn high right now lol. I don't really take random Gods and say "Oh it is a dark God so edgy lets use that without research"
I don't think those deities appreciate you using them without your permissions. Set approached me at a black metal concert in 2023

Everything is experiential and I am the opposite extreme of an armchair magician. My third eye opens and I am driven by psychosis often

Maybe your pantheons are more robust and original than mine, but I try to align myself with existing deities and influences.

As I am polymonohenotheistic myself, I feel that my pantheon functions like so many limbs, but are mutitative of the "oneness of allness" - viz, as a Fortean concept where all phenomenon are islands of perception in an amorphous sea of awareness.

Put another way, there is the substantive and then the "accidental". As the Chaldean Oracles tell me: "the intelligible is nourishment". Deific forms are faces of root essences that present themselves with detailed instructions towards the freeing of awareness from the collar or chain of the dakshina marga flow that binds to the "herd".

And one instruction is "left, right, up, down, center" - the hypercube path which is really a circle (cycle) expanding against a membrane of symbolism into the void.

A list of specific deities can become a mantra of name analysis - in what way do the very letters form a sacred chain? I can sojourn with any and all deities freely if they do not accost me according to plan and schedule. They often do in accords with astral rotations, each having their place in the great mandala or kaliedescopic vision.

I would give specifics in a list, but today I will praise Tiamat with you. Her blood flows into the nadi vortices of Kali and I am pinned under the foot of Jai Chinamasta.

I am so goddamn high right now lol. I

western style monotheism is enforced by threat of hell, alienation from friends family and even violence.

They have tricked all of us into thinking monotheism is more logical than polytheism

People are literally too afraid to touch anything polytheistic.

Can you explain this a little more? Like not getting bossed around by entities?

So you are saying that the threat of Hell does not exist in other systems of belief, and that this is not used to enforce ethical behavior?

They have tricked all of us into thinking monotheism is more logical than polytheism
What's funny is how all that logic ends up developing the attempt at monotheism into so many hypostases that, for sake of preserving the pristine unity of one deity, end up diving it into multiple forms that pretty much serve as separate identities.
Take the Trinity for example - "one God in three Persons". For many it became a compromise for the sake of stability in rough times, while for others it was a blasphemous heresy that enriched our military as well as religious heritage.

People are literally too afraid to touch anything polytheistic.
Aside from movies like the original Clash of the Titans and God knows how many cartoons and other media, I was raised with Sunday preachers spouting all kinds of dreadful and dire dooms from the pulpit. It never made me afraid so much as curious how all these things could fit together somehow.

Can you explain this a little more?
I explore and I communicate and try to be creative with my revelations. This often requires a suspension of judgement be with angel or devil.

Like not getting bossed around by entities?

Sometimes getting bossed is not a bad thing.

What I meant is that "they" give me things to do. But they also remind me of my spiritual independence, freedom and responsibility. Devotion is a sacrifice - or, as one put it:
"Worship us and we will worship you."

Never heard that word before, can you please define it?

I'm a "process-relational panentheist" myself, meaning I think there's an All and an Us and both exist and shape each other. The creation has an impact on the creator, in other words.

By extension, I think of big-G God as the All, the composite of all consciousness as a single actor, and little-g gods as egregores (consciousness pools) shaped by humans (themselves consciousness pools). I think God is getting smarter (and this isn't oxymoronic with the perfection of God, because I believe that one of the traits of divine perfection is that it improves on itself), through the mechanism of emergent intelligence. Much like an individual ant makes decisions on its own level and the colony shows a level of organization that is more advanced despite having no central planner. The egregore (the god) is the colony, the ant is the human.

Through this line of thinking, I also believe that things other than the mythological gods qualify as god-level egregores. Corporations like Amazon, Walmart and Microsoft are egregorical in nature. So are gods in works of fiction, like the Lovecraftian pantheon or the Dungeons and Dragons pantheon. I think of manipulating my shopping cart and search history for the corporate algorithms as a form of spirit work, and I think an altar to Eilistraee would be as effective as an altar to Freya. I'm more inclined to think of Azathoth as a model for the All than Yahweh.

So in that respect, to answer the OP's question, my custom pantheon includes every god, as well as everything Max Stirner would call a "geist". I think of the organized churches as being their own spirits, independent of the spirits they exist to praise and channel. The governments/states of the world are their own spirits (egregores). Even my home wifi network is an egregore in my world, it's been named "Taco Truck Wifi" for so long that there is the ghost of a taco truck sitting out on my street.

As far as how I work with them, as a general rule, I don't. Any more than I develop a relationship with strangers I see driving by down the road. The world is full of spirits, but mostly I treat them with respect and leave them to their business.

I just merged a bunch of things together syncretically, in a manner somewhat inspired by my vague understanding from recently reading Stephen Farmer's analysis of Pico della Mirandola's argument structure. Basically I am saying "All things are in all things, in a different mode."
Also, this fusion was a bit instigated by the usage of the word "custom" in the thread title.

As far as what it means, I think you defined it yourself.
The one exception I will make is that my wifi ghost is more like Pazuzu looming over the neighborhood.
