I second what Keldan said about not using AI for doing deep research.

There are plenty of people practicing magic around the world, including some involved with organized crime, and even some delusional people practicing things like human sacrifice and cannibalism. But the idea that these practices are widespread is a wild exaggeration. Folk magic practices and the like, sure. But nothing like the fantasy cooked up for you by some AI. There probably are more narcos killing people for some supposed magic than people from other demographics, but that doesn't mean there are very many still. There's very little evidence of it happening, and very little reason for it across our multitude of occult traditions. Killing someone or doing something similar does a lot more to reinforce that person's psychological detachment and improve their skills as a psychopath, than it will ever do to cause some psychic or magical effect.

As for the idea of the most dangerous magic, in my opinion everything can be of equal danger in the wrong hands, and the person in the most danger is often the one dabbling with things they can't handle.

I’d actually push back. For me, the most dangerous art is the one where you stand in front of the mirror, strip the stories, see the real horror in yourself, and burn the illusions away anyway. The kind of work that forces change, dismantles your bullshit, and doesn’t let you go back to who you were, that’s the stuff that will ruin your life in all the best and worst ways.
I kinda want details on this but that's a bit off topic.
the Most dangerous occult group is the PDF class. gotta admit their dungeons, hunting parties and cannibal acts are ruining the world... and it all trickles down.

Not off topic at all. It’s just not as flashy as the criminal element of the occult. No blood, no church burnings, no murders, no “fear me” edge lord garbage. The real danger is quieter and less sexy.

The short version is that I mean the kind of inner work that removes your ability to keep lying to yourself. Shadow work, abyss type work, real spirit work, whatever language someone uses for it. The dangerous part is not that it makes you edgy and dark. The dangerous part is that it can dismantle the stories you built your identity around. Separating the truth about yourself from the borrowed morals that allow you to sleep at night. Once you see certain things about yourself clearly, you don’t always get to go back to being who you were before. That is the entire point.

That can improve your life, but it can also wreck the version of your life that depended on those illusions staying intact to begin with. Relationships, beliefs, self-image, old coping mechanisms, all of it can get dragged into the fire.

That’s what I meant. Not Hollywood danger. Not “spooky occult edge lord group” danger. The danger of becoming unable to unknow yourself.

Not everyone in the occult even does that part of the work. It is far easier to collect 72 sigils from the goetia like prizes, or read all the books and learn to talk the talk. But to walk that dark path inward? Yeah, that's where the real danger has always been.

I appreciate how accurately you highlighted the syncretism involved here, especially regarding the corrupted use of Palo Mayombe and Santa Muerte in these circles.
